I read in the log that you were kicked. Not banned!
I can't really say why you were kicked more than that I read that it said: "Vehicle whore..." and that you called someone "noob" and told him to read the Wiki! (Logs are awesome, aren't they?)
That might have made the admin's decision easier.
(I saw that you had started another reply too in here, where you quoted the Auto Message on the server. However, you did delete that post).

Nevertheless, we have a forum of our own where you can make your voice heard. I think it is more suitable than doing it inhere.
If you want, join Skyttegrav.se Forums and speak out! The admin that kicked you can answer why he did it. And no - we do not have "kiddo" admins. Be sure!

Sorry for your inconvenience! Our goal is that people shall like it at Skyttegrav.se

Regards,
Magrioteli

There it was! It has nothing to do with it. We kick people out when they can't play the came, and instead ends up trashing the teamplay. However we do not call them "noobs" - we tell them to go to our Boot Camp server. Politely!

read the wiki noob cos some one had just shot a pilot and robbed his kit expecting to live afterwards and steal the chopper he was going for.

i was transporting in the heli when i returned to base to wait for the call for a lift or supply i saw the plane (frog) there was no cas squad so i thought i would take it up and was promptly kick, i saw the "over jelous" admins server text and promtly got out of the previously empty plane, cos i believe in team play not smacktard rules that belong in karkand.

sorry but thats my opinion, and yes i will be using my right to join other servers where team play and fair play is observed

You've made your point. However if you give the admin a chance to answer, it would not be a monologue. I can't judge in every single case. Especially when I'm not there.
Besides that, we do have team play at our server. The server is often crowded due to that.

i had just joined the server and saw the frogfoot was empty no cas squad so i joined a squad with an empty slot to provide air support and was kicked by admin who'd played wayyyyyy too much vanila and din't understand the meaning of team play. i even got out of the jet when asked to but was still kicked (asked lol more like ordered with abusive language)
My mate was landing the frogfoot and he came in to fast and needed to bail to not crash it! (And he wanted it again of course!) And I was believing that you were going to lift with the frogfoot! And as fast as I pressed "Enter" to kick you I realized that you've bailed the frogfoot and the kick was unnecessary and I'm very sorry about that! Hopefully it wont happen again. Hope I'll see on the server again!

Of course we to stick to English in VOIP, if there is someone that doesn't speak Swedish. In an all Swedish squad - Swedish is more comfortable.

When I play as a commander I speak English with everyone - it's easier.

Skyttegrav.se opens the door to a new server. This time we will try out a Skirmish-server.
Our 64-slots server is full from afternoon till late night (local time) sometimes it is even hard for us admins to get in.
We will try out this one with 16 slots for starters, and see where it may take us. Maybe we'll transfer it into a 64-slots as well, or do anything else with it. Time will tell!

Nevertheless - tell us what you think and give us tips of which maps that are fun in Skirmish.
These maps are up now:

Server information
Name: Skyttegrav.se #4 PR 0.85 SKIRMISH
IP-address: 80.73.49.110:16569
Map size: 16
Max slots: 20
Round(s) per map: 1
Ping limit: 200 ms

Welcome to the combat!

Short: I've killed our former Skirmish 16-server and restarted it with only AAS-maps.

These are the maps the server run:

Of course we still have our mixed and famous AAS & INS-server, "Skyttegrav.se #1" up and running.

We would be happy if we would manage to fill both those servers up. So please join!

Skyttegrav.se #4 PR 0.85 AAS
IP: 80.73.49.110:16569
Mode: AAS
Map size: 32
Slots: 64
Ping Limit: 200 ms
VOIP: Yes!

My feelings today are similar to a father's, when he sees his newborn baby. :) (Nah, I was happier when my kids were born - sorry kiddos of mine).

Anyway, we’ve made our former (empty) Skirmish server into an AAS-server with 32-sized maps, on the 12:th. (Skyttegrav.se #1 is still wit AAS & INS 64-sized maps).

This is how it looked yesterday, Saturday, at 21:30 local time (8:30 PM GMT - Greenwich Mean Time).

We at Skyttegrav.se want to say Thank you to all you that plays Project Reality with us and at our servers. Of course, thank you to the Project Reality team that made this mod possible. :33_love:

Greetings,

Hi,
I think you should up the max ping allowed.
I get 20-30 normally, but yesterday my girlfriend downloaded a browser plugin for her mac while i was playing, giving me high ping for a brief period of time, and i was kicked for a ping of 210.
Playing PR with a constant ping of 200 is no problem at all by it self, and it does not affect anyone else.

Hi hx.bjoffe and welcome to our server.

No offence. We have 200 ms as a ping limit, and that is pretty good. Whether people on the same connection is downloading or not, we can't count in.

So the 200 ms ping limit will remain.

Cheers,

What's so pretty good about it, if you don't mind me asking? Keeping americans out?
I just see no argument for keeping it so low, and this is from a guy who never had a lower average ping on any other server.
I'm sorry to say I'm not going to play on your server in this case, it seems a very odd setting.

No offence, but; for crying out loud! What kind of whining is this? You are getting upset because your once were kicked due to high ping > 210 ms, caused by someone killed your bandwidth by downloading stuff? And now you go: "I'm not going to play on your server in this case".

Primary our community is aiming for Swedish based players, as we are a Swedish community. That doesn't mean that we closing the door for US-players or anyone else. We have players from the USA on our servers, and from all over Europe.

There are only six public Project Reality-servers in Sweden, and we are the GSP for three of those. (One we use as Boot Camp/BigWar server). So why shouldn't we try to get those players (and our country neighbours) to play with us?

If we would boost our ping limit to... 300 ms, we would "lock" those players out that sees a great advantage to play at our server, due to the low ping.

In the US there are 33 public Project Reality servers, so I do not think that it will come to a: "Gee, all our US servers are full; we better look for a Swedish server".

At our former community datorbutiken.com we also set ping limit to 200 ms, and yet we had players in from South America, Asia and even Australia. Okay, they played at some 180 ms - but they played.

Everyone is very welcome to play at any of our servers, but the ping limit @ 200 ms is there for one reason and that is to the players a good gaming experience.

Please!

Whining? It was in no way written with that in mind, but then i wrote it while rushing to work. Apologize that you read it that way. Still, what's with that attitude? No offence, yeah right
What i was saying:
a) i dont see the reasoning in keeping that limit, i still dont
Magrioteli wrote:

Why?
I might be dumb, but can you please explain your logic behind that explanation?
And b) i'm sharing my line with my girlfriend, i often get temporary ping-spikes, and can not play on your server.
By all means, keep it the way it is. It wasnt meant a threat, i'm saying i can't play there with that limit.

Ping is really no issue in PR, where the tempo is so much lower then eg. BF2. I have no problem playing on NA servers while she's using bandwith, strange this should be an issue with a server just a few kilometres away. Ping is not the reason for me to play your server, i've never tampered with "ping fixers" or tweaked files so my hitboxes are just as bad with 25ms as 175ms.
