I dont want any new factions with crappy weapons and crappier equipment,to make sure coalition side is guaranteed to have fun even when defeated.Give opposing force something to fly or drive or that reflex sight.

A new "ennemy" faction such as Russian would be great to not always be killing some PLA, MEC or insurgent but my favorite one is the Canadian Force. I hope we'll have atleast 2-3 good maps with all of our equipment (LAV-3, G-wagen, griffin, leopard 2A6M, etc.)

e:^yeah i agree,im pretty tired of killing mecs and pla guys..ofc there is insurgency mode,and i really like it ,but russian faction would be perfect.

Well technically MEC is also Asian The Middle East is a part os Asia right?

Anyway yeah... PLA does fit as an asian faction but i ment other possible factions like Taiwan, South Korea or even Japan. Other asian factions that could be made as OPFOR could be Myanmar, North Korea or perhaps a south-east asian country like Indonesia.

The Argentine faction project was indeed a modern version of the Falklands War. The general idea of that project is that the Argentine Forces launch a new invasion on the Malvinas/Falklands and the british forces will have to stop them and get them out. They even started working on some maps for it. I can't really tell if they're still working on it or they have abandoned it. The Argentinian forces faction was ment to focus on the Argentinian Marines since they pretty much use similar equipment to the USMC ergo making it a relatively easy faction to make. Eventually they were to go for the Argentinian Army which uses different equipment.

I'll go ask some of the guys in charge of that project so I can be sure what's the status of that project.

At an early stage of that project it was suggested that perhaps instead of an argentine faction there could be a larger fictional coalition of nations of South America united for their opposition to the US and NATO. That idea came from the proposed "Defence Council for South America" that is to act a defence organism that would help south american nations help to coordinate their efforts against any possible foreign aggresion.

Currently there's a wave of leftists president in South America that are known to be pretty critical and even cynical towards the United States and Europe. The big boss we can highlight from this group is Hugo Chavez.

Ok back to such possible faction... The problem is that the different armies of South America have a small issue of trusting each other and it's a trend that comes from decades ago. Ergo the possibility of a huge union of these armies sounds highly unlikely in this universe... That not to mention that although all south america speaks spanish (Except for Brazil), many countries have their own accents and sometimes it gets a bit hard to understand each other. For an argentine... the way how a mexican speaks is quite weird, even funny. I bet the mexicans have the same feeling about the argentine accent.

But meh... other factions like the FARC or the ELN do sound interesting as well. Combat in the jungle. That'd be fun. Or maybe make a colombian drug cartel faction. And we give the "dealers"faction a nice selection of weaponry.


Anyway... we should first get half of the current faction projects done before we talk "seriously" about new ones.

I sincerly hope Canadian will made it to the release, the Leopard 2A6M is ready, the LAV3 is ready, the Soldier skin are ready, the Multifonction Katarn M16A4 can be fit whit Elcan zoom ( C7A2 whit "l33t" rail ) Canadian also use the minimi, the AT4, the M40A1 can be "used" as Timberwolf since they are the same, just not using same round the time somone made a real model of it... again the multifonction M16 fitter whit a sniper scope would fit the marksmanship.

Canadian deserve they're place, they are in a "focking hot zone" and they do a pretty awesome job, they fight like lions and they help american so many time, they help U.K. so many time, if thats not enought to convince you to add them well =( ok...

It takes ALOT of coding to get a new faction into the mod...not as easy as you make out, even if the majority of the art assets are done.

French Guyana, Guyana (english) and Suriname (Dutch) don't speak spanish either lol

US Reserves would be pretty interesting. They could open up some new map possibilities.

There are plenty of interesting new factions awaiting to be implemented.

Agreed, but I really want to see the reserve concept fleshed out for every PR nation - including the United States.

(The US faction is very easy to create a reserve faction for - so easy, in fact, that a map on US soil could probably get away with using the main factions. That's different for the PLA.)
