Don't worry about making a RECON squad from scratch, you can only do it if there are 8 on your team anyways (to request the special kits), and you only need one more person to fill the spot. Give your hand at both Spotting and Sniping, I'm sure you'll find them both rewarding.

I was on tonight, with a friend on Muttrah and Quwai River (sp?). I just started a SNIPER/RECCE squad, he joined, I locked it, requested the kit with only two people in the squad, him and I, only I was able to get the rifle on Muttrah, but we were both able to get the rifles on the River map, hope that helps. Could it possibly be the server you're on? We were on the Chicago PR server if that helps.

For "sniper squads" use
sniper
officer
medik





I never liked 2 man sniper/apc/chopper squad that get locked up.

One would get hurt then run around looking for a medic,the other would get hit
then drive around looking for repair and the last one would spam the team chat with
gime laze.

There is 1 solution to all of this don't run a 2 man squad.
SL don't kick the sniper out of your squad - use him.

My friend went Corpsman so incase we came under fire, he'd still be able to heal us, never encountered anything that didn't kill me instantly though

You are able to create a sniper squad with 2 members. You should be able to request the sniper kit in a single man squad. You dont always want or need a spotter and you do not always get one.
If the sniper is looking at like 30 kills, then yes, a spotter will do a lot of good, but if 10 are more realistic, then no, no spotter for you, its better to have one gun more in the field.
