I shopped a quick picture to show what I'd like to change.
First the land bridge and that small stone bridge (imho) need to go, the Brit's have 7 ways to cross the river counting those 2, so I think 5 is enough. Next I'd like to see a firebase spawn in the NE corner (where the box is) with 2 rovers spawning there. Now, in the SW of the map, id like some more fields (green box) and a few 1 story houses. To the east of the fields, in the city id like some roadblocks (respresented by the thick black lines) to block the western and southern entrances to the city. And last but not least, I want a small to mid sized cillave in the very SW corner of the map,. This cillage would be composed of 1 story houses with 2 or 3 civi cars and it would be a cache spawn point. (If possible could we have an undetonated nuclear bomb in the viilage center?

) Thx for reading, Earth signing out.

1.) Replace the merlin with the new lynx
2.) Place a CP in the city to let the brits have a chance of actually fighting in the city and not let 2-3 guys sneak in and find all the caches.
3.) Replace with new and Place new statics like the ones in korengal and ramiel.
4.) Profit?

I would like to see a sewer system under the main city. That the insurgents can use to hind weapons and move with out exposing there movements to the coalition.(keep the brits as the coalition force)
Another thing would be more destroyed buildings and rubble on the roads because I am sure the British at one point or another had a few air strikes or artillery barrages in the city.

How about insurgent land bridges? Once the bridges are destroyed bomb cars cant get by to kill tanks. Now I know the devs always say "IEDS LOL!" but it's kinda hard to get to a tank camping 500 meters away blowing your face off. And who honestly wants to take the civi class and spend 10 minutes holding a mouse key to repair 1 segment of a damn bridge?

just to re-iterate here, I edited duckhunts main post to be more specific, posting it here please respect this request to make this thread productive:
We arent looking at a total overhaul here, but what kinda things do yo think the map could really benefit from. This is the actual map, DO NOT post suggestions about the following:
DO NOT ask about Vehicles
DO NOT ask about Kits
DO NOT ask about Ammo Caches
DO NOT ask about Factions
DO NOT ask about Flags
DO NOT ask about Tickets or Ticket Bleed
Basically want suggestions for:
- Colors
- Lighting
- Weather
- Effects
- Static placement
- Terrain
- Roads
- Rivers
-etc

Can the 4 small bridges along the north river start as wrecks? This will give both sides 3 main bridges to defend. But still allow an engineer/civilian to create an alternate route, if needed.
I always wondered why there's a vehicle checkpoint, when there are 4 other routes to get around it, all going the same direction. They all go to the airport, from residential areas. It would make more sense that the coalition blew up those bridges before setting up the checkpoint. To funnel all traffic to that one main road heading north.
The same with the double wide road heading north east, on the north side of the river, the pipeline hills should come to the water, similar to the south side of the river. making movement through there an off-road thing. Not impossible, but not a marked and paved road getting around their checkpoint.

Better use of the map area would be my only suggestion. There seems to be alot of wasted space in the top right and bottom left corners that could used for playing. Adding features to those areas to get play into them would be great.

Expanded urban area.
Unused areas of the map made more usable.
A change in the sky and lighting (a change is as good as a holiday).
Evidence of war ie destroyed buildings, destroyed city block, dead bodies, burning wrecks, buildings on fire.
More debris added all over the map.
More power/electricity lines.
More variety in building types.
More variety in building textures.
More cover available on rooftops.
New statics made for rooftops or textures for the current statics.
More "hidey holes" for insurgents.
More statics in general.
Underground area(s) (perhaps underground base for insurgents).
Dome of death over the palace area (south east island) to foil spawn campers.
and
Insurgent uncap added for ease of administering servers.
More enterable buildings throughout the map.
Make at least one bridge for each team to leave their base/vehicle area a non destructible.
Dry sunken riverbed, waterway or sewer system which enables troops to move
through (at least parts of) the map unnoticed.

Map is good for me. Not sure what I dislike but its not the map. I think its more the insurgent mode.
If you can add something realistic to the south side because thats unused like some people already mentioned

The map needs *something* in the SW corner. Right now, it's pretty much wasted space. Another small village or petrol station type arrangement with a few cache locations. It needs something to bring the place into play.
Seeing VCP cappable again would be nice, give the INS something to do other than defend defend defend, and also give the Brits something to hold onto.
Maybe making it more of an evening colour scheme, coming up to but not quite sunset.
Ah yes, and rapidly assembled sheet steel fencing around the northern edge of the Palace wall to prevent spawn camping and destroying the bomb vehicles in there.

I think basrah need to be more hot, i want to say that i prefer it looks like a yellow desert with yellow sand, with blue sky and a very hot sun, like in Irak.
Sky :

The only thing I can really think of is bring back the insurgent spawn points with the weapon pick-ups. This is essential in my opinion.
