Oh np mate, big love.
Really, I bet that if PR was its own game it could get armed forces sponsorship and be released as a free game (like AA).
I mean the British armed forces are all in to games and toys right now:

Normally never buy games new, wait until it goes from 50 to 40. But since this is the game I play the most then I would pay $50 - $60.

Provided they make their own engine, 60, it would be one of the few games I play regularly, so its well worth it, besides what is that in Euroes ? Like 60 cent

? (yes, we laugh while we can and no I really do not want to hear about the lira ^^).
EDIT: I would also pay if PR would be a mod for an engine that does not give you eye cancer.

PR is excellent in its current form, and it's a mod in progress. Now, a fully fleshed out PR game, with all the hardcodedness gone (fastropes, realistic weapon sway, better bleeding, realistic vehicle damage, 128 players, intersquad VOIP, and much more), would be definitely worth $60, if not more. If EA can charge $50 for games that require patches just to become stable, the PR team would deserve much more for a PR that is more complete and polished than 90% of those game.

People Please Get this thru your heads. This is a Hypothetical Question if pr wasnt a mod and was a full game. Would you buy it basically[/COLOR]
LOL WUT IZ PR COSTING MONEYZ NAO WITH .85?!?11one!!11
To be honest, I don't think that it would sell much. It isn't a game with a very large target audience. You would have to bring the price down below $40 for a number of people to buy it.
But it is definitely worth money to the people who really enjoy it. If you enjoy it more than vBF2, then it is worth at least the cost of vBF2.

I read the OP. thats why i commented in the first place. god... i dont want to have to pay for PR. i love PR, but i would not be able to support it financially. im only in high school... srry if i pissed people off but i had to make my point. if you do somehow make it so we have to pay, you will lose a large chunk of players.

Indeed, but why are you talking about Bananas when we're talking about apples ?
Anyways, they'll only make PR paying when they include fast ropes

regarding the time i spent playing pr, might been 2k or 3k hours or even more during two and a half years, i would of course spent some of the money i saved for not buying those other games.

I would pay $59.95

. Here's the reason. I see the effort. When I say "see" i mean, I actualy feel it in the game. I am however, a bit concerned that an ex-army guy would make such rash comments about the game not being realistic enough. There's two classes of people in my opinion who play this game, those who would like the game to so closely simulate reality that the only thing between the game and reality is the pain. Then, there are those who see the game for what it is -- A GAME. The original intent of this mod (at least as I see it) was for those of us who are not millitary folks to get a flavor of the reality of war. The goal seems to be to get more mature players (as the 0.7 manual says) in the game. This is a tough task. No matter how hard you try, you will always have trigger happy fools playing just for the sake of playing. Then you have those who are serious about their role on the team. They want to feel that they're part of something. These (to me) are the two roles in this game -- and as we see from the posts they constantly butt heads

.
I see the game in a serious light. I want to contribute and when I don't, I feel that I've let down the team. Yes, it's a "game" -- but it's MUCH more than that. It's a way to learn how to operate on a team. I have not played 0.856

. I've hosted it (Stable Files) -- Seeded it! -- BUT I HAVEN'T played it

. Mostly, because I'm afraid it will not run great because of the new demands on my system. In any event, the DEV's have done a great job with this mod.
My final thoughts. Because I run a mirror, I FULLY understand the financial implications money plays in any large scale operation. One of the most irratating things I've ever come across is the misconseption of many open source minded folks (which I am one) have about money. FREE is only a term of perspective. I get to play Project Reality for free --- but the DEV's who made the game didn't. They had to SPEND hours and PAY the PRICE for my fun. These are terms we all try to shy away from. So, if you're freaking out about this post, it says a lot about you.

Just a thought...
Couldn't they charge money for an individual password to download the mod?
Not charging directly for the mod, but to visit a web page to download it.

I would probably only pay $10-$20 since this is a only a mod.

Really, if they made there own game with a new engine, instead of a bf2 mod I would gladly pay for it. You guys have enough skill you should get some company to let you use there engine and make your own damn game and say screw EA.

I dunno. I can't make a general statement, so I'll make this as specific as possible.
For PR 0.856? Yeah, I'd pay a full $50 if it were actually a game. It's way, WAY f***ing better than vBF2 in absolutely every respect. You guys (Devs and so forth) have no idea how big this game could be

it's truly revolutionary, something I haven't seen anywhere else.

I'm sorry to say, but I would never pay for PR. I'm just too poor
Now if it were on a different engine, and not just a mod (but keeps the whole idea), then I might buy it for any price under $80.

If PR was a game on the shelf I'd pay the same price all games are around here 60 bucks.

Under the assumption that they REMAKE pr for the awesomeo engine 3000 and then release it too stores... i'd wait until i could get it for 30£ or so since im a poor student. I really can't afford 60-50 on a game. I got... other expenses.
