I'm confused... I thought wide screen didn't work properly in BF2, that it just stretched the image. I have a 1920x1200 monitor, but I play BF2 in 1600x1200 (black bars on the side).

Oh, it works just fine (I use 1920x1200), only the HUD elements get stretched. BTW, I really think there should be 1280x1024 added, which is native for most 17" and 19" LCDs. The 852x480 could be thrown out (only some projectors have it, right? or old plasmas) to make room for it.

Because my monitor is set at 63Hz, EA don't feel the need to support refresh rates other than 60Hz in a meaningful way for BF2 and Dell don't feel the need to pay for nVidia to properly support the mobile graphics cards they developed under contract.

Hello, how do you get that widescreenfix to work? I got my pr shortcut set up as instructed (+widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200) and the game boots in that default streched 1920x1200 res, I also got the widescreen fixer activated and set to 16:10 (bf2 game selected) verion 1.32 .. status, game running: Yes
Fix enabled: NO ... I keep pressing ; but nothing happens.. what did I do wrong? how do I enable the widescreen fix? I tried it ingame in game mode but the damn ; wont work! I also play 1600x1200, black bars on the side but I got a 1920x1200 monitor.

The hotkey is ' on my keyboard, its different depending on what language your keyboard is in. try mashing some random buttons and see if your view gets wider.

Thanks for the tip, I will try different keys (use a swedish keyboard).
