What's the point of spending all that time, money and effort on an F-22 when your enemy is fighting in biplanes and you're getting a 1-1 KDR...so why do you need such a big FPS when everyone else does just about as well on a lot less?

Surely you can imagine I didn't spend $1200 purely for PR? I play a lot of other games, and most of them are more demanding than this one.TF6049 wrote:What's the point of spending all that time, money and effort on an F-22 when your enemy is fighting in biplanes and you're getting a 1-1 KDR...so why do you need such a big FPS when everyone else does just about as well on a lot less?

Yeah. I play a lot of games to, such as Brother in Arms: Hell's Highway...which won't run above 20 frames on this current computer. That is why I am getting a new one.
Plus, I need to put all my settings on low for BF2 to play modestly.

Project Reality really really likes 6 GB of DDR3 RAM!
My updated rig!

Core i7 is really impressive! Overclocks easily to 3.2 GHz on the stock cooler with temps under 65c under load!

My 8800GT is the bottleneck now. Im thinking of the next Nvidia series (GTX 300s) before I make a decision to upgrade. No need to rush since all my games are maxed.

Thats exactly how this thread went. You aren't providing some sweet inside tip to boost fps on fallujah. Everyone knows if you upgrade your computer hardware then your fps goes up.

Got me an i7 920 rig with 6gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 260 GTX. CPU is at 3.8ghz and still FPS dropping to 60 at the lowest. All drivers updated, DX9 updated, everything is as it should be but I can't replicate the results posted in this thread.

So you're basically saying I'm an idiot for coming back to this thread and my post is irrelevant and all that other ****. I got a similar rig as the OP and posted my results, what's wrong with doing that?'[R-DEV wrote:AfterDune;1227612']

^ Lol, that's slightly ironic. He got burned for searching instead of making a new thread, instead of getting burned for making a same topic thread.

@Topic:
I have a tip. It uses to work with some, but with other it doesn't work. In Fallujah, the game runs better with 8xAA and 16xAF. Wierd, eh ? Better graphics = better FPS? Well, it worked for me and others. Give it a try there.
here is the topic about it

What OS you have? If you are updating DX9 it sounds like you are on XP-32bit (nobody uses XP64). If you are then theres your problem, update to Vista-64bit or 7-64bit, I recommend 7, it rulesTheOak82 wrote:Got me an i7 920 rig with 6gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 260 GTX. If you have some laptop with vista laying around you can get windows 7 for 14$ from whoever made it, just lie and tell you bought it last december.

Having some real benefit, other than longer vpenis, from 100+ fps requires monitor that can display every image that computer renders. Usually LCD monitors are capped to 60Hz, which is same as 60 fps, so playing games with higher fps than that is waste resources.

You can change that in the video settings, there a range of Hz available even on my 6 year old LCD, but I think that setting it to 150Hz would make its life expectancy shorter than your grandmother's.clueless_noob wrote:Usually LCD monitors are capped to 60Hz

i7 isn't needed for anything, my C2Q Q9300 with GF8800GTS G92 is enough for 100fps with 1920x1200, all maxed out, 8xAA and 16xAF. Of course fps drops a bit in fields, but that isn't a problem.
Processor doesn't really mean much in games. It's all about the GPU.

You might have 150 Hz available on grapics card's settings, but I doubt that any non-CRT monitor can sync to that. Also, older LCD panel's response times were *****.[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:You can change that in the video settings, there a range of Hz available even on my 6 year old LCD, but I think that setting it to 150Hz would make its life expectancy shorter than your grandmother's.![]()
Other things a hardcore fps hog might be interested in is monitor's input lag and some other advanced graphics adapter settings, like triple buffering and maximum amount of pre-rendered frames, which all contribute a small portion to systems total laggyness.

Are you sure that's the lowest number you've seen? How about in the US base looking at the APC/truck garage?buckboard wrote:i dont know why no one can run fallujah very well. i have pentium 4 3.6 ghz 2 gb of RAM and hd 4850 and i can run it on all high settings 60+ fps... wierd

My graphics card and sound card are held together in the case with duct tape.
Beat that.
