I very much agree with this suggestion, hereby the unofficial:

Personally, when debating about realism, when there aren't any drawbacks, why not actually implement it?
Ya i think it has been suggested already but most ppl wont waste an asset like a plane cuz its a long spawn time and well if you do something like that you getting kicked for sure if not banned.Cheditor wrote:The evac problem i think i have a solution (sorry if its been said just im rushing and not rly time to read another 2 pages of posts) On maps that have jets there are 2 planes which required only 3 kits needed for to fly them. Implement your jet pilot kit idea but limit it to only 3, so you wont be able to go HALO jumping as if you did you would get kicked for just wasting time instead of flying a jet.
Mary.au wrote:Alright, this is looking good!
Just to recap:
Helo Pilot;
- No chute - to prevent para drops and the like
- Knife & carbine - for self defense if forced to crash land
- Unable to pilot planes
Jet Pilot;
- Has a parachute - for when shot down at high alt
- Only a pistol, realistic, and as a jet is valuable asset most pilots wont ditch for a few kills
- Unable to fly choppers
- Would request a new kit (helo pilot) if picked up by chopper, again to prevent para drops
Ok with that recapped, can we have a word from the dev's as to whether this is a possible/realistic etc idea?
And are there any minor flaws we've missed that need to be addressed/fixed?
They want to change it so then when a heli pilot is shot down he can have some sort of defence when the enmy comes looking for him cuz he was shot down.Canofwhoop wrote:I think that its just time consuming for a person to keep switching over from pilot kit 1 to pilot kit 2, I dont like the idea of taking out the parrachutes becuase since when do you ever see a heli pilot jump out and para drop? (ive only seen it on training servers) and if its only on training servers then your taking part of the fun out.
and it shouldnt change that you need 2 dif kits to fly
so i think we should still keep the parachutes and not change to 2 diffrent kits.![]()
they can still get extraction they may need to run a little bit to find a clear landing zone but a good pilot can get in and out fast and stay low.So they still need smoke.xXRich07Xx wrote:I don't know if this has been addressed, but if you give the Jet pilot a chute, but limit him to where he cannot board a chopper, then wtf would the emergency smoke nades/survival gear be for?
Getting shot down over enemy territory would be a death sentence because pilots would not be able to get extraction.
Terrible idea.
Don't dismiss ideas at first glancexXRich07Xx wrote:I don't know if this has been addressed, but if you give the Jet pilot a chute, but limit him to where he cannot board a chopper, then wtf would the emergency smoke nades/survival gear be for?

McLuv wrote:Well, yes. That, or we could provide a single seat, the front copilot seat, for downed pilots to return in, which might allow kit limiting if needed, though that's a topic in itself that doesn't need to be discussed.Mary.au wrote: - Would request a new kit (helo pilot) if picked up by chopper, again to prevent para drops
Otherwise, yes. The list you've recapped is correct.
So one seat for one pilot?McLuv wrote:Don't dismiss ideas at first glanceYou might see a problem, but there's always a solution.
I've already answered this numerously throughout the thread, and within the first post.
Here's two easy fixes (I personally prefer the second one)
Maybe the protocol for approving a suggestion is much more complex than for responding to a flawed suggestion, as a dev can quickly say "Sorry not possible" when they see a problem, but when no immediate problem is present they probably have to communicate and prepare a response that reflects the majority of teams stance.McLuv wrote:BUMP. Any comments from any DEVs? 3 days unnoticed/uncommented on an (imo) good, and well thought out suggestion isn't too good of a sign. I mean, especially seeing as a majority of players disliked the pilot changes, ESPECIALLY the military advisors
Comments/Remarks?
so that would mean that he has got something good hereMary.au wrote:Maybe the protocol for approving a suggestion is much more complex than for responding to a flawed suggestion, as a dev can quickly say "Sorry not possible" when they see a problem, but when no immediate problem is present they probably have to communicate and prepare a response that reflects the majority of teams stance.
Either that or they're lazy.![]()
