Just to clarify, we had to make a lot of design considerations before going ahead with this change, and it seems like this is going to stay. That is.. until every single kit geometry for every faction is redone from scratch.
However in response to the OP's suggestion, SHOULD we have every single kit geometry done up from scratch, it would be possible to have any sort of model or equipment left behind rather than just bags.
There are a few factions getting completely new player models/ kit geos, so until all of the factions have them, don't hold your breath.

No
The console version was BF2 Modern Combat, which looked very different, and basically was a completely different game.

So, to my understanding you could replace the kit or 'bag' geometry with another mesh, for example a m16 but is it possible to give the geometry physics? instead of just spawning the mesh on the floor? so we could actually have a gun 'fall' out of someone's hands when they die and not just spawn but actually fall?

either that it maybe isn't in the game it'll be cool in PR when you shoot somebody the weapon and the helmet or something else to fly out of him

*Sigh* why do people always just randomly whine about EA removing all there amazing features. 1, you were not there when the game was designed and do not have a full understanding of why these features were removed, until you do, stop the waste of posts that are all complaining about DICE/EA. I bet most of you would be bitching if they had left half this stuff in even if it was not finished and if it had a negative effect on server performance.

Then watch some vids... many us soldiers run arround with an ak in there hand... its a big difference if you shot the 5.56 or the 7.6
Thats why us soldiers take the ak and not the m4 /m16 or whatever...

Only in movies/games. Give me even 1 video showing american soldier in firefight with ak(not posing after locating weapon cache)
Real soldiers wouldn't ever take gun that they found lying on the ground and use it instead of their own. They can't know if it even functions properly. And how about ammo?
