What online team based game doesn't have a way to keep track of the score/kills?
Insurgency to name one. But there are others I have played that do not show total kills/death, but rather points.
Keep in mind I definitely think points and deaths should stay, and keeping kills at the final scoreboard I think is not a big deal, but seeing kills DURING the round I think is bad for gameplay.
I think it really shapes players into a "kill focused" mindset, when I think in order to achieve a more realistic gameplay, players should be thinking more about objective orientated mindset (for the Team Leadership) and a "I dont want to fukin die!" mindset for the grunts. Too much fixation on kill counts means players will do more risky moves and sacrifice themselves needlessly just to get in some quick kills. Yes, players will ALWAYS do this regardless of the kill counter or not, but I think by removing kills from in game, you will drive away more players with that console/arcade "KILL KILL KILL" mentality and in turn attract more of the objective orientated players. tbh I dont see a big difference in gameplay either way, its a more subtle thing.
For me personally, I would hardly notice such a change, its more about subtlety changing the playerbase mentality for the mod than anything else (as with many other changes made in PR).
If your main reason for playing PR is high kill counts, I think its a pretty piss poor game for that, there are sooo many better games for this purpose (unreal tournament, cod4/cod5, tf2, l4d, css, irongrip:warlord, almost every mainstream HL2 mod, etc).
And just because I have this opinion doesn't mean everyone agrees with me on the team so relax

have a normal debate, without the need to slander everyone and say this is the end of PR
