That's not right, though. Ambient noises are part of the experience. Evidently, you probably won't hear firefights outside of Barracuda since it's an island, but I do believe hearing other engagements on Fallujah or Kashan, or where ever, would be great. Obviously no army is going to deploy only 32 troops to fight a single battle, so hearing other parts of it would be nice. The silence of some maps is often extremely odd.

Now, it doesn't need to be only other military engagments, but I believe maps should be given more ambient noises, each controled server side.

No small arms ambients, but distant arty/mortar fire and jet sounds would fit. Make the map sound less empty, and more like a full scale battle.

I quote myself:
and if you mean ambient sounds like birds in the forest and sounds of the city then i'm all for it.
I was referring to ambient sounds in the form of small arms engagements. A few far away artillery explosions now and then on a map like kashan wouldn't be too bad, if implemented right, but sounds of a firefight in the distance are not needed imo because the players make those themselves, and it would only be annoying and confusing

Not true, the distance sounds would be even more away than the combat zone so you could hear a clear difference..
and wont interfere with the normal battle or anything, you would only hear it far away if it would be silent, except for the artillery and jets and such, you could hear those a little bit in a heavy firefight

Yeah exactly what I was saying. "annoying and confusing" what's that supposed to mean anyway? War isn't exactly a blow job in a tranquil garden with a beer of an experience.

I have no problem getting immersed in the game as it is now,

Noises that are not part of gameplay would simply confuse new players, and once the players had been around long enought to hear the diffrence between the sounds created by players and the "BOT" sounds that have no effect on gameplay they would simply be annoying..

I am happy reading the responses that it looks like this wont happen.

I have no problem being immersed in the game, and "FAKE" sounds would only be a detriment to player immersion.

Even a newbie wouldnt be confused? :S
it will be far enough to get you the idea its out of the map..
and it wouldnt be annoying, you wouldnt notice it if you where in a firefight or talking over voip.
