i thought of that, but then i realised that all the nessesary gun models are allready in the level thats loaded. Its not really weapon customisation, just a different way of selecting it.
However,
if the developer team decided to put in more weapon models with different sites (eg: EOTECH Sight. ECLAN, or Faward grips. [sorry if i misspelled, its very late 4 me] or even variations such as, M203 with a different sight than normal) it would be more than just pretty good. The end result would be in fact more intuitive, and give way more depth than the original BF2 weapons.
In fact in my opinion it would soar above vBF2 and the next big war time sims that would come out, and truly rival a whole heap of FPS games for that fact that PR has big landscapes, vehicles AND varius weapons where a lot of games
only have either big levels...or small levels with cool weapons....or just vehicles that are good but weapons and levels that leave much to be desired.
Making the weapons like call of Duty 4 and 5 would undoubtedly feel really good for the player. And it makes me consider wether grunts on the ground would have the ability (all the time) to customise their weapons. I mean, its no more believable than leaving boats washed up on a beach and not dealing with it. OR dissapearing disposable rocket launcher tubes or any of the other things in game that dont make sense but people dont care about because it would ruin emmersion to think about those things.
Im not saying PR should be more like COD4, but i am saying that in my opinion COD4's weapon customisation features makes the game very very interesting, and each player can add his/her own original taste and feel to it, giving the player
much better emmersion and stabilising their kit choice for the battle at least a little bit longer than how it currently is.
