Well frankly they dont got much of a big reason to make the new patch (1.3 and 1.4 were both released due to the expansion and booster packs...1.41 was there cos the ppl were pissed at the bugs which 1.4 had)

ea is low in life now,

attlefield 2 modifications are now illegal: There has been a shortage of players during the past months. DICE has found out the reason. Battlefield 2 players have downloaded modifications (we call it 3rd party hacks). Such modifications that are included in the list are: Point of existence 2, Battle racer, United States Intervention, Nations at War, Sir. Mod, Sandbox, Project Reality mini-Mod, Surreal mod, Operation Peacekeeper, Battle-paint, Desert Conflict, and more to name. Any player found playing any modification will be warned, 2nd time caught will have their CD-Keys banned. We can not have a shortage in players or it will hurt EA badly.

What is the update list for 1.5? Just some fixes or are they adding some new content?

It's taking them years to make some fixes, along with - maybe - another terrible map or some other minor addition.

I know they were adding something minor, but I can't remember what.

Novint Falcon usability? That's minor, and probably affects all of 10 people

Yeah they are talking up this new map like it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I havn't found a full change log yet.

i think the only reason the DEVs did this is because maybe EA gave them a estimate of when it would come out very soon, but if they didnt they shoudlnt be doing this

Good quality games should last for a few years. After all , they do make money with expansion packs on the base game. What annoys me is that they announce the upcoming patch , take forever and a day to release it , and whole time telling us oooh it's nearly here , it's nearly here....a year later we're still waiting.

I just hope they will make BF2 more stable with Vista.
Maybe then my PC will stop freezing when I play PR.

We have been doing some closed Beta tests with the connection issues we had in Beta 1 and 2. We think we have it and we will be doing a Beta 3. Fingers crossed we'll have it to you soon and it'll work as we want it to.

Well from what I've gathered following this new patch is that there wasn't that many coders working on it in the first place and all of them were new to the bf2 code. So no wonder that it took some time to even get to the beta stage. And after they reached the first beta, according to Bazajaytee, only him as an associate producer and one coder were left to do the finishing touches on the patch. Well, at least some funny comments have been caught concerning this...

well no doubt the slow and generally undecisive nature of the 1.5 patch development had a sizeable impact on the new PR release. How it will affect future versions of PR remains to be seen... it seems years in the making with no end in sight???
