Do you know how to bake ambient occlusion maps? Cause I really think your rifle could use one.

yeah i can but anytime i use the bake feature it makes a terrible outline around my UV seam edges.

These renders aren't anything advanced btw. It's just a very simple standard quick render. I'll try to do an AO bake and see how it turns out.

If your talking about the plastic furniture i was aiming for a greenish brownish colour kinda like the g3's. I've seen so many different types of SVD furniture. I just chose a colour and went with it. I always use non destructive layer adjustments so i can change it in 5 seconds. But I think it adds contrast to the gun. Instead of the gun being a solid black. But all in all it's gonna be up to my military advisor contact.

Oh and Chuc the AObake went great. I've always had a problem with baking models but since i've had max 2009 i haven't had a problem with anything. Thanks for the suggestion man :)

Very nice work, for the wooden texture I would say the scratches are too much, less more defined scratches would give it more depth/definition. Very nice on the metal though.

The scratches don't actually stand out that much ingame. I made a note saying i turned up the contrast to exaggerate some of the details. You can see the scratches in game but they are a lot more subtle

but thank you :)

When you feel its ready we need to have it certified by Nosferatu (our Russian military advisor).

well, when the avatar holds the weapon...you don't really see the stock do you?

It makes more sense just to retexture it in that case?

Yeh cool i see what you mean but i was just thinking along the lines of what is the most common and i'd say its the wooden type.

well, it would be really cool to have the plastic version for the russian forces, while the insurgents would recive the wooden one
