The Sikorsky S-80 is the CH-53E Super Stallion / MH-53E Sea Dragon, the Marine Corps and Navy heavy lift helicopter. The Merlin is a medium lift helicopter and is quite a bit smaller. You are correct that the Vertol 107 is the Sea Knight, though.G.Drew wrote:doesnt some of them look familiar?
S-80 - Merlin?
Vertol 107 - Sea knight
The days of the CH-46E are numbered; they long ago started to become deathtraps and horror stories abound from the Marines that ride in them. One of our military advisors said that you should not get in a CH-46 if it isn't leaking fluids, since that meant that there were no more fluids. He also described some of the bird he flew in as having patched bullet strikes from Vietnam since the airframes were that old. The story he told that stands out most in my mind is a crew chief grabbing a rifleman and telling him to "pump this (backup hydraulic system), or we fucking die!"Dark Ewok wrote:To each his own. Personally I prefer the look of the Vertol 107. I think it looks tons cooler than the CH47. Plus with the current problem of the number of seats available in game, the smaller Vertol might be a more logical choice.
The Marine Corps will be replacing them starting this summer with the MV-22 Osprey, when the first Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron, the Thunderchickens, will activate. The Navy has mostly replaced its CH-46s with the C/MH-60S Knighthawk.
And also, if we model the CH-47 Chinook, we can make multiple skins and use it for both the RAF and US Army. And slightly remodel it into a 160th SOAR MH-47E.

Eddie baker, do you know anything about the status on making more than 6 seats available in helis? Or any other solution, for that matter.'[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker']The Sikorsky S-80 is the CH-53E Super Stallion / MH-53E Sea Dragon, the Marine Corps and Navy heavy lift helicopter. I like a variety in games, not complete copies of transport helis.
So the hind would be nice. I hope this means troop transport with a cannon and some FEAR types rocket pods.
1 pilot
1 gunner
6 passenger
= a wonderfull aircraft, not to powerfull but at same time, very unique and interesting.
P.S blackhawk = 9 peeps
Chinook = 13 peeps
So you can see how things rap up quite nicely.

Yeah, I'd love the Hind to be the beast it is in real life. Rocket pod and minigun but also the troop transport aspect is great.
And yeah, Chinook would be nice too. They were always fun targets in Joint Operations
Oh, speaking of JO, the Halo would rule. Largets and most powerful helicopter, and it's another one used by Soviets (so it'd fit in with MEC since they use Soviet stuff.)
Halo at Chernobyl
Look how huge that is!!!

but its OLD soviet stuff, then again, the ak-101...
anyway, im happy that the HIND be included, but i suppose i should have put 'British choppers in PR'
On the UK side i would luv quite a lot of choppers, not just 1 for each map.
I would have:
Chinook
Gazzelle (lil bird UK)
Merlin or Puma
Mi-24 HIND
anything for the Chinese?

Hi! I am new on this board.
I was trying to find some PLA Heavy Transport Chopers like Chinook for British/US and HALO for MEC and i find this:
http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/helicopter/s70.asp
Black Hawk in PLA?!
Oh! And Chinese can use Mi-17 as a Heavy Transport Heli:
http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/helicopter/mi17.asp
PS. It would be great to see AH-64 Apache for US
And black skinned Black Hawks:
Like this: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/u ... vic330.jpg
It would look better near black MH-6

I haven't really read up on the subject but as I understand it, the 6 passenger limit is a constraint in the BF2 code and not in the PRMM code, and is nothing that can be changed right? In that case, I absolutely agree.Armand61685 wrote:i dont see the point of adding new helicopters if they can only hold 6 people. It would be a waste of time and effort.
