I'm thinking none of those chopper images on the box art is an Apache.

no the apache isnt in the game since the marines use the ah-1z cobra and its the army that uses the apache, and its the US marines that are represented in bf2.

Well, I'm hoping the fact that the images being Apaches may be a sign of an expansion bringing in the U.S. Army. It would seem almost natural to do so.

there was a picture of an m26 pershing tank on the back of the bf'42 box and yet no sign of one in any of the expansion packs. i wouldn't get my hopes up but then again you never know

As the Apache will not be in the default BF2 package, we will add it to our mod.

I don't think it will be, since Battlefield 2 is based on the Marines not the Army.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but those aren't AH-64A/C Apaches on the box art. They're
Mi-28 Havocs (click).

That thing will break your arm off but your gonna hit the enemy one way or another.
the Jackhammer in Battlefield is not realistic just as the shotguns in BFV.
Because under the Geneva convention it's illigal to use expanding munition in shotguns. Thats why you see shotguns in the army but they shoot slugs and no expanding munition. Something Battlefield and other games never understood.
Realitymod should keep this in mind
cheers

They many just be adding the Apache to a patch, or expansion pack. But thats anyones guess.

There's no reason for them to add the Apache. They've never mentioned it, it's not on the box, and they don't serve with the US Marines. Why would they add it? : )

Maybe the reason they put in the Super Cobra versus the Apache is because it got neglected last time. It's a totally cool chopper to fly & has some wicked stats in real battles around the globe. Not to mention it is also the front line attack chopper for the USMC, which is being offered this time with the rollout of BF2. This is a nice tribute to those guys who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Fallujah, but who also took many insurgents out along the way. This will let each of us feel we were there with them.
Among all the choppers I used to work on in the USMC, the Cobra is without question the most reliable helo. Later on I worked at Boeing & became familiar with the Apache. To this day the Cobra remains the most reliable combat helo in the entire US inventory in my opinion. It can be operated in combat with a fraction of the logistical support of the Apache. It is just one tough, reliable, *** kicking helo.
However, fully supported and logistics aside...the Apache is the one to beat. This is because of it's advanced avionics & other features that allow it to kill faster...period.
It would be nice to have both of them! Without question it will be back in an extension pack or mod.
Semper Fi!
