Hovering is the issue why the Cobra on Muttrah gets shot in the first 5 minutes. A good gunner should be able to counter the movement of the chopper and be able to click on the target when it appears in the crosside.

Hovering ist just dangerous, not only because of AA, more because of the guided AT. Even unguied AT can beused against choppers when they are hovering.

The problem in not hovering are pilots with no experience, they move shaking as hell, if you can move smoothly forward or sideways no matter the speed, the gunner won't have much problem.

PS :. At high altitude, don't want your gunner to take out anything if you're flying low at high speed.
