Those types of runs should be made by the a10 or froggy with their cannons.
A fun round of flying low...

No the teams weren't like that before. The MEC kept leaving because they kept dying.

I'm not gonna convert anyone but suffice to say that attacking without a laser (or even a spotter) is not hard, its faster, better for you ground forces because they don't have to expose themselves as long, and in the long run makes the battlefield as a whole safer for you. ie) the more you engage, the less they have to throw up at you.

As for attacking a laser. Generally speaking I will simply release a bomb the moment the (sending laser target) is heard. Sometimes I will insist on a grid if I need to attack with guns or anything else, but at least there's a chance it will track. I used to try to get specific grids to attack but by the time you convince anyone the target is gone.

I still yet have to try your tactic CAS i said i would but i just never got round to it, I Know that you can use your bombs as missiles when flying low(obviously there has to be a lase) but i have yet to drag myself onto a training server and practice dive bombing on PR, however I don't want my team pissing and moaning about if you cant fly don't when I am a capable pilot.

Bombs dropped at 300 altitude do not explode.

Iv tried this many times. When my SL could not laze a target i tried dive bombing it, but apparently the bombs just hit the ground without detonation.

The gun is no good against tanks, it just tickles them. Apcs might be another story, but in order to stay alive the whole round like i do, i dont try to go below cloud level unless i must. I even strafe extremely effectively from above 1300m without ever exposing myself.

The problem with the person spamming his laze target based on his location is that his laze could be anywhere around him in a 800meter radius....

Its not always an obvious target. Since i cant see where hes looking on the map with a header anymore, its all random. I try to think about if hes thinking of the flag were capping now .... or is he lazing something on the flag that we are defending.... who the fu*k knows....

I only have 2 bombs, im gonna use it on a sure target, as AA like to stick around the corners of the maps lately and take out jets incoming for a landing.

Your last part about destroying jets on landing, That is just...wrong, it proves that you can't face him in combat, in my honest opinion. I mean, if you have to go to extreme lengths(Minus baserape) in this case, shooting down an enemy jet while he is landing, then you really have no heart, nor sportsmanship. Fight them in the air, as it is fair, or don't fight at all.

I agree with you, it's not too hard to do a minimum 4 letter comment.

Ghost1800 wrote:I thought this topic had more to do with the person marking the target then the one dropping the ordnance. Pilots would do well to know how both positions function, but the topic at hand here is how to properly lase a target for CAS, not how to circumvent having a spotter because your team is really really thick.

I'd recommend taking a look at this thread, I thought it got a lot of the essentials down very well.

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f143-s ... ort-2.html

there are also a few other topics in the same sub-forum with good tips.

Hmmm, I nearly forgot that thread :p

I think I aught to update it some more, and add in some advanced tips.
