Perhaps if the tank's added a system could be added to make the handling suddenly go out of control to simulate the poor tank drivers, increasing the likelihood of driving into say, a ditch or a river.

realistically, none of the arab countries are keen on fighting the israel again. In the past a lot of them would curse and threw ultimatum to the israel, and in the past they DID attacked israel, sometimes in one whole coallition force of arab nations. Except the israel on each of thoose fight turned the table against them and in each one of them they inflicted casualties sometimes in excess of 5 to 1, let's not even talk about their air victory... that's not even a dogfight, the IAF more often than not just steam rolled their opposition like a slaughter house
So israel pretty much kicked them in the butt on every single war they had before and after getting their limbs crippled multiple times they seems to have learned their lesson and prefer to avoid direct open warfare against Israel which they are quite profficient at now against the arab coallition. The thing though is that several of the old israel nemesis bought US hardware in the last decade or so, Egypt for instance now posses a sizeable fleet of abrams MBT which skew the hardware quality distribution into a more balanced share now.

Just for you to know, the Egyptian Abrams tank are not as the American made ones, i dont think they have DU armor on them, and dont forget the crew training effect here.Zepheris Casull wrote:Egypt for instance now posses a sizeable fleet of abrams MBT which skew the hardware quality distribution into a more balanced share now.

Indeed, as was proven in the 1991 gulf war, when 2 roughly evenly matched tanks come into combat the crusial factor is how good the crew are, if the Iraqi T-72 crews had been as well trained as the American M1 or British Challenger crews then the tank battles would have been much bloodier.IDF-Godzilla wrote:Just for you to know, the Egyptian Abrams tank are not as the American made ones, i dont think they have DU armor on them, and dont forget the crew training effect here.
Indeed, some US officers have stated that if they had been using the T-72 in that war and the Iraqis had the M1 the outcome would still have been the same in those tank battles.
Also, in regard to whole Isreal thing, if the arab forces could allow thier SAM sheild to move foreward with thier attacking units they would have a much greater chance against the Isreali forces, because, if you look at the 1973 Yom Kippor war, in the opening stages when the Egyptitan forces advanced accross the Suez canal they were still under their own SAM sheild and the Isreali counter attacks were decimated. If the Egyptians hadnt moved 8 of their armoued bregades out from under the SAM sheild the Isrealis would have had a much tougher time disloging the Egyptian forces. Now, if they'd had mobile SAMs they could have pushed all the way accross the Saini and possibly even threatend Isreal's original tereratory.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Yes I know the rifles finished and is in service in some parts of the world (I know India purchased some but I don't know if their still using them?).Crawley wrote:You guys are bieng very unrealistic, and
Wrong this weapon system has been in service since the early 90's.
I actually just got my words mixed up (happens alot bloody dyslexia lol), I meant to say it was still being manufactured and there is further development to include the OICW system.
Also you say early 90's, afaik it started production in the early 90s (1991 I think) but wasn't ready until 1998, and the majority of testing took place in '99 by the IDF.
Anywya apologies for the confusion.
