Re: [Weapon] MG3
I could be wrong about this, but I believe the mg42 had a much higher rate of fire resulting in its crazy ripping sound. when the mg3 was developed i think they lowered the rate of fire so i dont think it sounds like that anymore. again i could be totally wrong.MonkeySoldier wrote:I was actually thinking of suggesting the MG3, but it seems the R-Devs can read people's minds. Epic.
Will it sound like a MG42? (with that 'ripping' sound, not sure how to describe it)

That is right.charliegrs wrote:I could be wrong about this, but I believe the mg42 had a much higher rate of fire resulting in its crazy ripping sound. when the mg3 was developed i think they lowered the rate of fire so i dont think it sounds like that anymore. again i could be totally wrong.
This was done because the bolt assembly tended to break quite easily at such rates.
And at this fire rate, you are still suppressing everything that can be suppressed but don't waste so much ammo doing it. And on top of that, your barrel is not heating up so fast.
Great model! I have used the real thing with great joy and this looks just like it.
One question though: Will there be a version with the anti air iron sights? Would be just for fun as it would be a pain to make it work like the real thing, but nice to have nonetheless...

im not sure dont know the word
but i know that it is the only thing on the MG3 thats out of plastic !
i learned to assemble and disasseble at the german army and i really only know the german words
in german its "Schulterstütze" the stuff on the back you press to your shoulder

Sweet model, perhaps the new MK48 (7.62mm M249) next?
It's mentioned in the first page of the thread:
MEC for now, Germans later.theflidgeface wrote:which faction will be granted this weapon?
It's mentioned in the first page of the thread:
[R-DEV]Jaymz wrote:To answer peoples questions,
It will be the new MEC machinegun for 0.9. Both handheld and possibly vehicle mounted as well. Other factions that will come later will also be using it, the Germans for example.
It will handle similar to the way the HK21 does now, although it will be more difficult to control if not deployed and set up because of it's insane rate of fire.
It will come with and without optics.

I think FN MAG will qualify as MG3's adversary.Snazz wrote:Sweet model, perhaps the new MK48 (7.62mm M249) next?![]()
