Haven't played CoD 4 too much, but there really should be more scenes like that in there - just interludes to build atmosphere, characterize the cast, etc. Or at the very least cutscenes with them like the ones in World in Conflict where they call home and whatnot.

No, wait, they'd have to involve up to several minutes of no one getting killed and no buildings blown up. Silly me.

It's funny, since beginning of this year I play PR and it's pretty much the only shooter game I play atm.
Now I have Modern Warfare 2 and I suck at it. :D

I am used to slow-gaming, which is also cool, but when shit goes off in MW2 I sometimes just need some time to check the situation! ... and am dead, haha. :D

Also I am used to having this situation: firefights -> me and my buddies on my side, at least 50-200m away are the enemies, so I always know where to shoot at.

Now HOW THE FUCK am I supposed to know whether it is a friendy or not, if there are 20 guys bunched up not even 20 m from each other and they all look the same (high end soldiers)!!!

MW2 gives me the shits.

I am still hoping that ARMA II will be patched to a decent game. Also lulz. But that would be a simulation about soldiers in rear echelon roles.

I didn't see a multiplayer version. The single player would definitely be boring. I hate playing against bots and that is where PR beats the competition. Players want action too, that version didn't have any fire fights that I saw. I personally think that it would be a flop.

Use the CoD process:
1. See something humanoid.
2. Shoot it until it dies.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until game ends.

CoD is all about fast-paced, shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later gameplay.

Haha awesome, imagine there are actual people* who honestly think military service is like Modern Warfare.

I had a brief looks but deicide it was not worth the broad band usage. If it got call of duty stamped on the cover it usally better to look else where.

Depending on the scenario and the unit you serve in, it is. Military simulations focus more on the Rangers taking the airfield rather than the guy driving the supply truck.

you dont have to see all of the details to see reality. just have a look from 2 controverse positions.

PR still gives you experience in different roles and different ways of fighting, like in insurgency.

hard for a commercial "mainstream" game to challenge this.
