That wink is devious.
Anyhow, in regards to OP, I think the map is pretty reasonably balanced as it is. A lot of times the marines have their thumbs up their butts, and that screws them over, but I've had a lot of good rounds as both teams on Muttrah, I don't think the MEC are at any disadvantage at all. But a ground based version of muttrah would be epic

definately would be cool

Tank on muttrah would be overkill, at least on my hands.

I can easily snipe out every chopper, and lav's dont even scratch the tank, the only real way to die would be mine's and HAT
Prety rare to see a "good" apc being hellfired by the cobra, usualy the cobra only kill "dumb" apc's that let enemy infantary laser then or those who stay on the same open position for too much time.

COBRA GUNNER DOESNT EVEN NEED TO GET NEAR JUST SOMEONE PUT A LAZE ON THE TARGET AND THE HELLFIRE DO THE REST.......................

I have an idea, how about not adding any armor assets for MEC now, untill someone makes like a BMP-2. With its 76mm cannon, and not so formidable armor it would be a great asset if u want a relative balance against the US alluminium cardboard tanks that are going to be reintroduced. One could make it spawn only once on the map, so US would have a fair chance. Or you could try to give a little more HAT's/LAT's to MEC to even out the things. Or, as i previously suggested, just give MEC a T-62 and the US a TOW humvee.

You didn't comprehend the difference between the three separate tactics of tank usage. In overwatch, a tank will generally be defending a particular area or corridor, meaning that it will generally be stationary defending some form of arterial road. This makes it quite vulnerable. The proposed tactic of the quoted post was actually quite different to this, and involved focusing upon maintaining the presence of the tank at the flag, which means that actual cannon usage would not by any means be the role of the tank. This is a tactic based largely on survival and movement.
Edit: Using hats offensively is the primary reason why teams have no access to anti-tank for prolonged periods of time. When used defensively they can quite easily stay up for the majority of the round. Forcing the enemy to use hats offensively allows a situation where the US don't have access to any anti-tank, allowing for a counter-attack, and of course, any number of lats is unlikely to slow down a competent tank crew.

Cobra and AH1U against T72... more than enought huh, no need to add anything.
Honestly, i think that will have an impact on the game, no matter how its used, or how long it survive in the streets. That will give some hard time to U.S. Marines C. And its not like US can't strike back with the air support or infantry.

You seem to forget that fact, that the Cobra 80% of the time Muttrah is played fails after 15 mins so i dont know about saying Attack Huey & a Cobra versus a T-72 because the constant SAM lock will make a Tank hunt over Muttrah impossible.

you guys should try the combined arms version of muttrah and then see how well tanks and attack choppers mix with it...

AH-1U? What the hell is a AH-1U? Theres a AH-1z Viper and a UH-1N Twin Huey with Hydra launchers.
Just thinking about it, the USMC has enough things to worry about. They have so many disadvantages as it is, theres no use in giving them another problem to worry about.

lols, but we're talking 1 tank here, not several together with static AA guns and CA's auto lock-on system for every projectile in the game except bullets.
Tank on Muttrah would be only interesting to see on a Counter-Attack gamemode, still miss that. Or if MEC had no APCs and the tank was their main combat vehicle.
Or have one LAV25 with TOWs?

Doesn't seem too effective.
We could modify the Maps asset layout to this.
USMC:
LAV-25 x2 (AAVP7A1 x3 when its out)
UH-1N x4 (No Littlebirds, as the USMC as no operational history with them)
UH-1N w/ Hydra Launcher x1 With Respawn
AH-1Z x2
Humvee w/ TOW Launcher that Spawns at the Repair station next to the Logistics Truck
MEC:
BMP-3 x2
BTR-60 x1 ( I was thinking x2, but it would require two squads to operate all APCs)
Same number of Logistics and Troop Transport trucks.
Added a few more assets to spice up Muttrah as its loosing its appeal to players.

I think the only real alternative to what is in place now (which is ok) is 1x BMP3 for mec and 2x LAV's for US.
BMP + 2-3 vodniks would be perfect.

Or we could stop adding it in every other map on many rotations and let 24/7 muttrah servers fall from the player counts.
The community is gorging itself on this map, and this map is like a very good pizza. Pizza's all well and good, even if you have it once a week. But if you eat it every night for 6 months, you'll be so sick of it that you'll never want to eat it again. (Apologies to Chef Rhino)

Well Muttrah should also have the MEC get an Mi-28, a Mig, a Frogfoot, BMP3s, a fighter-bomber, and teleportation.
Also, we need to make sure that all weapons in the game cannot kill in one hit. Even when admins slay players for being stupid.

I'm in favour of adding a BMP-2, since BMP3 is "overkill"

FYI BMP-2 has higher RoF of auto-cannon while firing same rounds

and it also has ATGMs so this will be hardly much different
