RedFox said training will be back but not in the fail way it was done.
We'll see how it will be done then, but hopefully we'll get helicopter training in different scenarios. It's important to know how to fly, scout for LZ's and land in mountainous terrain, forest terrain, cities, villages, military complexes and the likes.

Let's clear up one thing.
Kashan COOP is not a 'training' map.
If anyone has said otherwise, they were incorrect.
Like any other map that you can play COOP/SP on, it is SP and bot friendly first, with the added ability of playing COOP, 2nd.
The majority of jets and helis on SP/COOP maps are tweaked so that bots can actually fly them.
So they are not the best learning tools.
On Kashan, the jets that are in the hangers are the MP versions.
I think a few of the helis that are around are MP versions, also.
If you want to learn how to operate any of the air vehicles, start up MP and create a 'local' server.
You can fly around untouched to get the hang of it.

and yet here were devs and others saying that co-op replacing training would have everything training did, but better..

Yeah, I really wish there were at least a "vehicle training" mode with instant respawns and infinite tickets - even if it only be single player or local only. That really helps my heli and plane flying out. Thus, less crashes and less angries on the public/private servers.
This has probably been suggested, but a full-featured shooting range map (again, for single player or local) would be kind of neat too. Good way to train PR recruits, as I have to do that a lot. Different kits to pick up on tables at their respective ranges - learn how the deviation system works, use deployed/undeployed MGs and marksman rifles, range m203s, try the guided/lobbed AT weapons, etc. That would be a truly epic training tool. Might not be terribly too much work, and I would do it too, If I could ever get around to being arsed to learn how to map.

And I just set the record straight.

I think what they're getting at, is that they want a mode with instant and infinite vehicle and player respawn - with all of the vehicles in one convenient location.
My first chinook flying experience was on a full server. Thankfully, it was similar enough to other choppers (and I was lucky enough, of course) that I only got shot down once. Really would have been nice to have had put in an hour or two of flying that thing in loops and run it into the ground a few dozen times to see how it reacted.

IIRC someone is already making a "bootcamp" type map, maybe that's what will be replacing training.
May be just speculation on my part idk.

The impression has definitely been given that COOP replaces Training.
I support a special training designed map with low spawn times and infinite respawns as well but we'll have to wait until someone finishes one. In the meantime there's some less-convenient alternatives including creating your own server, playing COOP or modifying your map files.

As previously mentioned I'm all for having the training mode back.
Waiting for things to respawn isn't going to help pilots that can't fly well enough as it is.

I dislike how there is 'bot-friendly' aircraft in COOP because the bots hardly even use them and are terrible at using them anyway. It'd be better to just leave them to real players IMO.
heh.. the other day a bot flying an A10 TK a little bird with two people inside of it using rockets because the littlebird was between it and me.
It also missed me completely.
Also, what's with the frogfoot carpet bombing!?

Agree with this

I think the best thing to do to prevent tard fests is to have a training campaign like in Americas Army games or any other games that had training like that
( americas army training was very long and challenging and you actually learned some essential stuff)
you learn how to move, shoot, drive, fly, atack, defend, command, revive and etc.
Once you completed training missions you should get ribbons or something (or wings if you learned how to fly) so when you play a game people see that you passed training and allow you to fly

I only used training to practicing flying, but I just load up a single player game and run it locally for myself with AI or not.

Jets, after a bit of practice I am not as much of a launchpad McQuack when it comes to landing.
Landed it on my third attempt during a combat mission on quinling, but then flipped it while taxing to get rearmed XD .
Choppers on the other hand... steer clear

I would like to see it back, me and my clan used to go on Hamachi and play. Online servers would either be glitched or full of smacktards. But we spent about 5 hours on it going through all the infantry kits and things.

training mode was terrible in terms of teamkilling and dm'ing.
but coop isint much better.
people stealing you vehicles, destroying them and/or tk'ing you is still Really annoying
>_<

Ok, if people winge about base raping fest or whatever... Why don't we just introduce training more just for single player? Like, I would love to be able to load my own local server without having to wait 60 sec (and increasing) everytime. I ain't one of those idiots that crashes...I mean training means to train. And crashing is the consequence learning attempt.
Co-op does not help because vehicle spawns with delay (and thanks snuzz for the script mod) but this does not solve the spawn time of me after each death/crash...I ain't waiting 1 min after every death. Please re-introduce it back.
So yeah, for some idiots that stuffed it up so bad to get it removed - doesn't mean we are all idiots worth of this feature being removed.
Edit: If online training is not a choice for everyone, then how about just leaving the "Offline" training mode???

You can try changing the 'DEAD_TIME' in the realityconfig_coop.py file (easier to read with Notepad++), located in /mods/pr/python/game/.
