Longer rounds can be attributed to more ppl willing to wait for a revive rather then just quickly giving up (losing tickets) and spawning on a RP. I've seen a willingness in SM's to wait up to more then 2 min for a revive while I cleared the area and revived the rest of the squad. Waiting 2 minutes for an EPI is a lot more convenient then spawning at a FOB and walking 15 minutes to regroup with the squad. As a medic, I like the limited RP changes for this very reason. Enough times I've dodged enemy fire, cleared a building and stumbled my way to a down SM only to find out he gave up after being dead for only 10 seconds. Kudo's on the change DEV's.
If you're looking for quicker maps, you can always play skirmish.

I think they are way too long.
2 nights ago I started playing at 8:30 PM, It was almost midnight and the round was still going, we were playing insurgency, and the BLUFOR hadn't even blown up a single cache yet. I had to give up. It's almost impossible for someone with a life to even get 2, sometimes only 1 round in per day. I go to college, come home, eat, do any kind of work I had to do, and by that time it's nighttime and I can only play for like 3 hours because I need to go to bed early because I won't want to get up the next morning.

Well, one of the reasons I can't play PR anymore is because of the long duration of the rounds. Especially with no rallys, the rounds will be longer... Which is a problem for me, but it is good to who can play.

Long rounds are great, but definitely not always. I played a really long round on Iron Ridge, and even though it was just amazing first, it became boring because the round just took forever, around 2 hours I think. On maps with a lot of vehicles, long rounds are way to go.

Way too long some times
cause some of us can only afford a few hours, it's so sad when you can't finish one game

I just don't think it's fun... Especially because most of the time in PR (not sure how it is now in PR.9 in general) you were in some kind of important role... Attacking, defending... I think it's most fun when you end the game with a good round, knowing you were useful to the team.
Of course you can leave mid-round, I might actually try that later (I've done it don't call me weird) but the most fun I believe is in the middle of the round. I like to start a round and finish it. At least doing something for the team you know?
And now I have school work and I'll be doing some community work so I won't have much time!
I wonder how long does insurgency game modes last... how long in general with the revamp of insurgency (which is my favourite game mode)?
Ah and I just don't like to leave mid-round as BLUFOR because you are normally always doing something important, opposite of being insurgent, which I am normally just screwing around or sneaking up on BLUFOR guys...

I can sympathize with those wanting to finish playing a round they started, but not being able to because it might last 2-3 hours. However, I often have quite some time on my hands to finish the round atleast.
Perhaps there is a middle ground where we all can enjoy shorter/longer rounds on special servers with reduced ticket count? I for one wouldn't feel angry if say 50% of all servers played shorter rounds. I would be able to choose, there are plenty servers to go round.

qwai river always seem to drag on for years and some of the new maps have too many flags to be capped.

Long rounds over short rounds I nearly only play in weekends I get to excited if I play on week days and cant sleep afterwards.
But of course it really depends on the map maps like Kashan is a pain in the *** it just are to open now I have not played it with the version, but I think I will feel teh same way now, Yamal on the other hand I had no probs playing the 2 hours and something it took.

PR=Cake, 1 slice=SilentEagle(for example) nobody is forcing people to eat the whole slice, its ur choice.
The cake has been laid out in front of us, we chose how much we can eat.

Depends on the situation, gametype, players and map.
ive had some 1 - 2 hour games.
and some 2 and half, to 3 hour games.
all which varied in being epic, fun, action packed or just plain boring.
So yeah, i do admit on the rounds some times being ridiculously long

The only bad long rounds are insurgency. Everything else though- PURE WIN!!

If the rounds have continuous teamwork and not too much waiting (e.g 20 minutes is as long as I'll be able to do nothing before cracking...) long rounds are definitely the way to go.

seem to last the right length, but can drag on or be cut short by bad team mates. It varies but on the whole when things are going good games last just right.

I played on Iron Ridge AAS last night and the russians walked all over us by the time we recapped all the points we had 30 tickets left and they finished us off by killing us! It was done in less than an hour...very sad times!

Lashkar Valley takes hours. And if the tickets on the british team gets reduced they might have less chance of winning. But rounds where the blufor takes down all caches usually takes long.

For many people, me included, this is often great - last night on RT there was a 3 hour Qwai round where the Chinese won by 3 tickets! But for other people, they may only have an hour or two to play every night, and may not want to spend it only playing one map. What do you guys think? Should the tickets be reduced slightly?
Proper execution of the tactics and maneuvers requires time

I think it's better to play a great long round with cover and support on one map, rather then 5 in 2 hours because your or opposite team lacks of teamwork.

Lashkar Valley and Korengal Valley take too much time. I don't mind playing a map for 2 hours but I do like when it is animated and most of the rounds in these are boring (you can wander around for 20min without seeing an enemy).
The other thing is the trench war between two FOB's in AAS: sometimes you don't even care capturing flag and you defend you FOB with your HMG-TOW while the enemy is far away with snipers, marksmen, scope riflemen (Silent Eagle, apart the village, is an example).
I may had some bad luck finding a good round though

It will take some time to evaluate the ticket values but they will eventually get adjusted.
As for Iron Ridge the insurgency ticket value is a mistake but it has to be coded to not take the same value as aas which didn't make it in for release
