I talked to the guys who made the mod a month or so about how they did that,
I can not remember it exatly, but it basicly is a supple crate that hangs to the bottem of the chopper, you press the buttion, and it disconnects from the rope and becomes a usible object. Now landing with it and such, i have no idea, for i have not tried it, but they said you reload it at the helopad.

Don't copy ideas, it's unique. Just because that mod has it, does not make pr need it.

You're all missing something more important, they look to have mostly complete Mi-24s in-game...

Maxfragg wrote:its done by creating a object under the helo that has a very strong lokal force pulling everything towards it, the problem is, that this can cause sync losts between server and client, so its basicly unusable in MP
Oh, and i don't think it could be limied to certain vehicles, a helo could lift anything, upto an airplane
For the record, Ive been a part of Georgian Conflict's beta tests since nearly the beginning. I'd just like to say that airlifting vehicles can be used in multiplayer (obviously as seen in the video). Im speaking on behalf of VEPR who doesn't frequent these forums very often. Any questions can be answered by him or ****. Their xfires are: maksum, and *************.

It's not new, but whats new is the fact that it works for the BF2 engine. No one knew how to get it to work for the BF2 engine before.

@EazyCurrE well, if you did it in the way I assume, then i would really wonder how you could solve this problme, i mean, i know that it can work, but sometimes it will cause disconnects, and this chance is just not worth it.
(for everyone wondering, this system has been discussed in the bf-editor forums, some time ago)

The only thing I see it working for is fastropes, but then again I am a noob...

That looks so cool.
But that isn't possible in a real game for other reasons I guess.

this could simulate chinooks picking up Humvees or landies, would love to see it implemented and working as intended in PR

Well, I was the one who coded this feature, so I'll just address some of the concerns.
1. No it does not use implosions or explosions and stuff like that, it's all python-based.
2. It's not overpowered, as your helicopter is weighed down based on its lifting capacity and the weight of the vehicle - if the enemy tank can't shoot a helicopter struggling to pick it up, then perhaps he should be walking instead haha.

Cool since you're answering questions...!!!
- Can players ride in the vehicle that is being transported?
- Could it work with non vehicle dynamic objects?
- What happens if the vehicle being lifted clips a tree or whatever?

I just wondered, have you done any work to try and apply this method to bypassing teh BF2 8 player per vehicle limit?

That was going to be my next question depending on how the first 3 were answered
