Bigger icons, less grey and black, stripping unwanted options etcetera.
Balloontips for different options and help pages for general instructions, how to setup your hotkeys (better way to setup hotkeys), what mumble is for, how to use it.
Maybe hide all advanced options.

It's only 0.5 but ease of use is really important point when getting more mumble users that are not best with computers.
Agree. It should be much more user friendly. Some common key bindings should be set by default and program should request administrator rights on startup.

But the thing I'm wondering most is if Mumble knows your location in the game world then why it doesn't know the server your are playing on, the team you are on and your position in the squad? Asking user to choose the server, team and SL channel is something that shouldn't happen at all. It should be fully automatic.

Because it only takes the map coordinates atm, for example you can be on a server your mate on another one both playing muttrah and even if he isnt on your server in PR but the same map, but in the same channel in mumble you will hear him like he was behind you ;)

5. Player doesn't want to use Mumble since the enemy can hear him. It happens since we configured the mumble channels to have only one channel for both teams. It's a little annoying consequence even though realistic to some degree. Setting two separated channels is possible, but then you have the annoyance of moving to the right channel and everything. We are checking if we can setup a script that does that automatically. Also it's the same issue with TS, as people can just join the wrong channel the same way and hear the enemy plans.
well yeah, we've lived with teh limitations of TS for a long time, and we've all just learned to live with it, doesn't change all the points I stated above at all, in fact I did state that Mumble shares limitations with TS.

would be awesome to get a web interface for mumble, then we can use the xfire ingame browser to change our channels.

annoying, confusing, often actually reduces immersion (due to all the **** spoken on it), clever, once in a blue moon really useful, popular, open to abuse, fun, horrible interface.

There is nothing more confusing than being squad leader, having in-game voip (squad & commander), TS & mumble on at the same time.

nope, nope, disagree, yup, nope, not popular enough, yup, yup , no opinion on that.

squad leaders should be good at multitasking, it can get hectic sometimes but you get use to it. as a squad leader, i wont play unless there is other squad leaders on mumble, its not worth the time.

Why would you need TS? There are SL channels you know.

Tartan, TS is still good for intra clan sociability

though when and if we get Whispers in Mumble (featured in mumble vanilla 1.2) TS will finally not be needed at all.

Mumble enables PR to be played at another level altogether coordinating with other squads.
Just recently I was SL on mumble with Gazzthompson and redwater, enabled us all to advance across a combined front, one squad down the middle, one east and one west.
Yes I agree it does get very hectic, but that's why I lead from the rear (like a coward) but you need at least two guys you know or trust to be on point.
SL needs to be an SL not a 1337 killing machine IMHO whilst playing like that.

err just a note.. you don't need mumble to work with other squads. A lot of posts here seem to imply you can't have good teamwork without mumble.. which is just bollocks. We have always had team chat text and a commander option, both allow you to work with others outside your squad. And TS of course.

I'm aware that when mumble is working well it helps with intersquad comms and can be a real bonus but...its only one tool out of several that can do this.

Also not once have i been on a well populated mumble channel without peeps constantly broadcasting what they deem to be vital information.
