I ment currently -.-
Is it really hard to do like you can disarm IEDs? What about nade traps?
And if that will be possible in 0.93, mines will be used more too.

And, if the "looker" arent paying attention or got tired and walked away + maybe he goes for a bigger target because his not aware he defuses it.
Trust me, ivee tried to be a EOD in Fallujah West, and we checked for IEDs on every possible place around main and when someone saw a car in a strange place, i went out and found the IED in backseat and blow the car up with C4........

@Tim
Give it to the Combat Engineer, so one man can defuse all explosives.
or give RS the possibillity to disarm mines+other explosives

i think it is a good idea :) ... getting engy kit ... THROWING C4 BEFORE you go into the city + mine ... finding placed enemy mines taking them out allowing less fatalitys :) i would do that lol sonds funnn sux it doesnt work for IEDS -_-

Thats what i think they should add in 0.93, possibillity to remove IEDs and Grenade traps.

Hadn't been for this flaw in game mechanics, sure.
No, losing HAT kits to the insurgents is the worst. And believe me, on most insurgency maps, there is bound to be one idiot on the counter-insurgency team that requests a HAT kit. We lost a merkava this way on Gaza beach and couple of LAVs on Fallujah. And yesterday I was on Ramiel, we were firing on a 3-floor building and saw an insurgent running with the american HAT kit on the roof, this time I killed him. Thank god my driver spotted him, lol. Its unbelieveable how people dont get it.

More on topic, EOD team is good idea but thats only when there is alot of players on the server that really want to help the entire team and save some tickets. Its hard to see that these days though.

Yes, throw your C4 at your fob or main base, then get killed, they pull out C4 slot, see a detonator, and KABOOM :) .
Even if you put it on some secret place, they only need to get to cache and rearm ^^.

As of right now, the engineer kit has no place on the battle field insurgency. It's like bringing a scoped SAW, HAT, or LAT out. They are all too much of a risk to your own team if you lose them.

If they make an actual EOD kit with some pliers, wrench, and no C4, Im all for it.

What you should do if you find an engineer kit as an insurgent

1. run back to main
2. invite friends to bomb car/bike squad
3. ???
4. profit

Throwing your C4 out before you leave isnt going to help.

The Combat Engineer is the closest you can get to an EOD kit if you ask me.

In current state of PR my opinion is that taking engi kit out on the field far is more dangerous for team then it is helpful (c4 bikes as mentioned)
I believe that on many servers you get kicked for it aswell if your unlucky.

Safest way now, if one would choose to take it out is to be sitting in a vehicle all time except for the actual mineclearing. And only getting out when scene is thuroughly searched. An effort of proportion that again, in my opinion, would take to much manpower away from the main-objective; taking out caches.

As far as I know you can't disable nadetraps or IED with engikit. Only mines.

A simple solution to danger of engikit is to remove its weapons. Just leave him a pistol. That way "EOD-team" would be more dependent of eachother. Realityaspect. There you have your Hurtlocker ;)

I'd like to see nadetraps to be disarmed by knife.

Otherwise I think this whole aspect of EOD-team is more for ARMA2 PR ;)

With respect / Mellanbror

LMFAO,

Its not a flaw, its totally realistic. Insurgents arent to be limited to shell explosives and pipebombs. Its already a shame that they have to kill an engineer and steal is kit to get some.

But when they finally get their hands up on a C4 kit, lmao, its rock the casbah, car bomb shop @ main.
