gotta say that i prefer knowing the weapon instead of it being simulated by some weird deviation indicator. but that is just me, if it is implemented though it becomes more a game of shooting at the right moment and can be done by anyone and would remove more of the benefits of being a veteran :)

Well maybe not the deviation indicator but the GL sights are just perfect for PR, with the deviation indicator PR will become not so PR because when in firefight it depends of your experience which includes the orientation when you are ready to shoot because IRL no one will tell you : "hey you are ready now shoot " LOL
And I also love that ironsight scope thing, now like it is in PR i hate scopes because they aim slow and in CQB you need faster so that will be nice to see in 0.91 or in 1.0 dont know the number :D

This is true. It's quite artificial IMO. Reminds deviation crosshair from BF2. Other than that the Mosquill work is outstanding.

no but you have a visual que of your aiming device lining up with the target IRL, a visual que of sorts is more realistic than what we have now. its just about getting the balance of it assisting you, and becoming a distraction right.

Biggest thing for me there was the multiple deploying animations.

The deviation indicator is a huge plus too. It will be a big move towards making the deviation system bearable.

I like that the deviation indicator is very small, so it's not cluttering up the interface. In my opinion a better deviation indicator would be the way it's done in Fh2 - A very mild waving animation, it makes it a little more difficult to aim as well as being a much more natural visual cue to deviation. Major disadvantage is probably that it would take a while to implement, if it could be at all (and I'm guessing not everyone likes the idea anyway :P )

I myself have found the more I play PR the more accurate I get with the different guns, i'm sort of in 2 minds. I can understand why a deviation indicator is a good idea, but I also like that right now you have to get used to playing with different guns to become proficient in them.

I find my self very accurate with PRs weapons, and have a great understanding of the deviation. Its just a visual que is more realistic. FH2 system is good, but at same time is counter productive as the sway dosn't match the deviation and im pretty sure it doesn't get better over time?

unlike other indicators such as the HAT cross hair or this which actually show the state of the deviation.

iirc the sway in FH2 does nothing, it still shoots out of the center of your screen.

I was thinking as more of a visual clue. Besides the sway still has a similar effect, although the bullets still come out of the center it won't matter if you can't tell where exactly center is.

gazzthompson: you may be right, I seem to recall the amount of sway changes but I'm not sure it's linked to deviation, it may just linked to the stance you're in at the time.

Anyway I've drifted this off-topic, it's not that relevant anyway. I have a feeling the back-up ironsights would make close combat much more fluent, I can still see situations where taking aimpoints may be advantageous, you have greater spatial awareness for example.

well if the backup ironsights were to look like the minimi ironsights from 0.8 (i.e. near damn useless but there) then regular ironsights and aimpoints will still have a solid part to play ingame

and how this escaped me at first i have no idea, but BAYONETS with double animations!!!!!!!!! absolutely awesome

I love the mini ironsight, I think this has been long overdue. Too much experience as a scoped rifleman trying to "Shoot from the hip" on auto against an enemy just a handful of meters away. I always wished for a way to roughly just AIM the weapon at a bad guy without using the scope.

As for the deviation meter I cannot really see that in the spirit of project reality since so much of the HUD has been removed from the original Vanilla layout through the releases. I think it would be more of a benefit to newer players. Certainly would cut down on the attempts at dolphin diving I'm still seeing when I'm engaging an opponent.

Jaw dropping, the things that struck me were the multiple deploy animations you've put in, but also that the rifle "remembered" whether you were using the Back Up Sight or the scope, little things sure but hey, detail's what matters. The whole thing is awesome :D

This looks really cool, good that the irons on the scope are fat so you cant aim them aswell as regular iron/aimpoint

Amazing! I was just about to say that I hope this makes it to the 0.91.. But after reading the changelog I hope this makes it to 0.92 :)
