Or make the Lynx the Mk9A variant, and add two .50 Caliber FN M3M's. More ownage.pl0x102 wrote:They Actually use the Bell 412, which is a decendant from the Huey family.
Maybe if the Lynx could have a GPMG fitted to it it might add a little towards gameplay.

I've got an idea:
Why not to add a helipad in the mountains with the apache, which will simulate the air support from another base?

I've played as Taliban a few times, and found that if you're not raping British main, you're getting raped else where.
I think CAS shouldn't be added, it'd be incredibly unfair for both teams. The taliban can just shoot it down as soon as it lifts off, and if they fail, the apache would be a beast in the air. And I can't see it being shot down very quickly by the taliban.

On quality servers, they are smart enough to realize that lashkar doesn't have a DoD. Therefor they make it illegal to baserape, like most servers wittingly do. I say yes for apache on lashkar, since I rarely see GB win.

Re: Lakshar valley Perfect Terrain for APACHE AH64
I am just suggesting a Lakshar valley adjustment that would improve gameplay and simulate real life insurgency combat where there are no restrictions with which kind of air support you can deploy against the enemy.
The whole point of adding the apache is to test skilled pilots and i mean really skilled pilots, the kind that invert there controls , use joysticks, or laser mouses to fly to the best of there ability and acomplish CAS support to the fullest.
BASE RAPE......
Flying the lynx out of main on Lakshar is very simple, you stay low and fly fast through the western canyon, where techs are off limits and there is a dome of death.
I would use the same strategy with the apache if i get the chance.

Look at it from the Taliban players perspective.stealth420 wrote:BASE RAPE......

The Lynx brings them people to kill. And It's a pain to actually kill the Lynx, it's fast, and killing it only gives your team a small advantage, and it could be argued that its removal will even hurt the Talibans' cause. Since without air transport, the Brits will now rely more on their heavy land based armored transport. So, rather then the Lynx dropping small amounts of infantry deep in enemy territory, they'll now be driving up to your door with 30mm cannons and coax machine guns, peppering everything in sight, and staying to support their dismounts. Basically the lynx is of little threat to the Taliban, therefore its destruction isn't strongly desired.
The Apache on the other hand, is a flying death machine. It has the ability to easily destroy not only infantry and vehicles, but the weapons caches themselves, and it does it from extreme distances. It's very difficult to take one down once it gets into position and starts its attack. It's a huge threat to the Taliban team. And it is unrealistically very vulnerable when landing and rearming. Because realistically it does this miles away from any action. Not within a 2km square of 32 bad guys.
So just because the Lynx has an easy time of getting in and out of the main, doesn't mean an Apache would see the same courtesy.
Not saying an Apache wouldn't be cool in Lashkar, but the spawn rape would be a problem.

I guess its a gameplay issue. IRL the coalition throws everything at AK wielding insurgents short of a nuclear weapon. In game it would make for unbalanced matches. You could give the Coalition in game CAS on every map and severely reduce the tickets to even it out.

The brits operate Lynx's with TOW launchers on them.
Just think about that for a second.

I have found the perfect base for Apache support on the map Lakshar valley.
Look towards the bottom right of the map and you will see a hill top that is above the brittish main base.
All you would have to do is level out about 50 meteres of land and put HESCO barriers around the heli pad , and PRESTO ! you got an apache base ready for use.
It would also make a good base for snipers to start from.

Re: Lakshar valley Perfect Terrain for APACHE AH64
So i edited the map for GPM_Insurgency and replaced Lynx with apache on local server.
I tested it out and it is fucken bad ***.
If you haven tested it on the map i suggest you do, i had a blast and i think this asset will be put to extremely good use if it was added to the map by the DEVs .
Thanks for the positive feedback and to everyone who disagreed please test the apache on the map and re think it.

What, and remove the Brits ability to deploy into the hills even more? Currently its incredibly hard to get a firebase up in the hills due to the stupid lag in the MAN supply truck and the roads which are easy as pie to ambush.stealth420 wrote:So i edited the map for GPM_Insurgency and replaced Lynx with apache on local server.
Yeah the Taliban are having a real good time ayI tested it out and it is fucken bad ***.
Being put to good use doesn't mean:If you haven tested it on the map i suggest you do, i had a blast and i think this asset will be put to extremely good use if it was added to the map by the DEVs .
- Balance, be it symmetrical or otherwise;
- The Taliban's ability to shoot it down;
- The British failing with it by flying low, hence making it useless.
One doesn't have to play to consider something. Thanks for the positive feedback and to everyone who disagreed please test the apache on the map and re think it.

DUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
You fluffy aussies need to read more, i Didnt want to take out the LYNX in the drunken first place. I wanted to add an apache and keep the lynx as well.
Ive heard alot of shit about your servers too, to many little kids and immature adults that duck around to much.
Edit: User was warned for "Flaming/attitude problem". Whatever may your beef be with other users you do not get to have this attitude while interacting with them.

Maybe you should rebut his points stealth, rather than use words like dude and attack him. Just because he can articulate his points without resorting to slander and swearing doesn't mean he should become the target of your ire.
edit: Btw dtacs, you realize that the lynx cannot drop supply crates anyway, right (as far as I know!)? It certainly is useful as a transport means but I would kill to replace that infernal lynx with a trusty merlin. Oh HC3, how I miss thee.

It would rape the Talibans. If ofcourse the Taliban could get AA-kit then it would be maybe fair. But I think a light attack heli is enough.
But on the other hand, the map is full of bushes,etc.. Wich will make the searching of enemies a bit harder.

I never implied that it did. What I'm saying is even though the infantry can be transported from main > hills, there is still a stupidly slim chance that they could get a fire-base up.Psyrus wrote: Btw dtacs, you realize that the lynx cannot drop supply crates anyway, right (as far as I know!)? And removing the Lynx and putting in an Apache would make it even harder, but of course I misread what he was saying.
Well actually, since he made no inclination that he didn't want to have to replace it, I'm not sure how I did misread it. (how can you misread what isn't there?)
What important here is whether or not the Germans have a chopper ready that can also drop crates, since they're probably going to be in the next version.

Why not have an apache? In real life air support would be called in. Why not have the apache limited to one or two per game?

Re: Lakshar valley Perfect Terrain for APACHE AH64
The APACHE is used in real life on taliban targets, it should be added for 2 or 3 spawns.
WIKILEAKS proved that they are used in combat today and we need to incorperate it into the game for more realistic combat.
Im 100% sure this will make this map a better combat experience ( The 30mm cannon on the apache speaks volumes) and it scares the shit out of taliban and if your a blufor infantry squad you will feel safer with apache support.
VOTE ON IT FOR PR.92 !!!
put up a poll please

Re: Lakshar valley Perfect Terrain for APACHE AH64
It dosent matter how many times the Apache is used IRL its about what will suit the game better and if you look at it laskhar is way too small to have an apache even though it has got the right terrian for it. Also i could see the apche not being able to take off at main without getting shot down.stealth420 wrote:The APACHE is used in real life on taliban targets, it should be added for 2 or 3 spawns.
