I probably wouldn't be wrong assuming you are wrong.[R-DEV]Outlawz wrote:I probably wouldn't be wrong assuming the entire 0.8 series had a sub-community of people who only knew the "training mode" side of PR.
I don't know how many people made their first steps to PR and learned basics thanks to training mode. I can speak only for myself and half a dozen people I play with. From that point of view training mode was especially useful. I practiced there a lot with my friends as well as I introduced new friends to PR there. I tried to do it on Coop but it didn't work well.
Anyway you guys shouldn't assume that people can't make step up from training mode to normal game, people aren't stupid. Moreover, if you think they won't be able to play normal game after practicing on training mode (which is simpler) then why they move from BF2 (which is simple as f...) to PR and don't quit after seeing that jets spawn 20 min?
Not to mention that same arguments and issues you posted against training mode can be addressed to Coop mode. Maybe sub-community of people who only know Coop mode is even bigger? ;]

The bot jets and planes don't handle the same.Tim270 wrote:The jets and Choppers in CO-OP do not handle the same as online.

However I didn't join PR during 0.8, so whenever I went to a training server all I saw was people teamkilling, blowing up runways, dropping bombs from jets while grounded and other senseless ****.
So meanwhile you and others moved on from it, the bunch that stayed sitting in the helicopters parked above enemy spawn points clicking away while polishing their new epeen prize were the ones that gave us the impression that the mode is utter sh*t, and are the source of mine and other's negative opinion of the mode as a whole.
Furthermore [R-DEV]ballard stated that Co-Op is not the new training mode as "advertised", to which I wholeheartedly agree and support but then again whenever someone new shows up we tell them 'go shoot bots and learn', but when asked 'why not bring back the training mode' the clouds turn dark recalling all the bad memories of it and we say no.
Bit of a predicament really.

Re: We want Kashan-Training back!
as i read this thread, and many of the others regarding the training mode, i guess it seems pretty obvious that we wont get it back and i wont go for the same begging and moaning. when you, the PR team, wont implement it again we have to do it ourselves. no problem with that ...almost.
the point is, many guys from my PR community are trying since ages to set up a kashan map which is as similar as possible to the old kashan training map. but now we, about 40 people, do realize that we cant "create" or "mod" it perfectly on our own, because there are always some strange errors and such as.
so the only reason i reply here is to ask you if there is the chance that somebody, official PR team or even someone from the community at all, does have such a custom kashan training map for us and our private training server. i guess thatd be the best alternative to the neverending begging of many many community people.
thanks in advance

Re: We want Kashan-Training back!
This thread serves no purpose, and thusly I am locking it. Training mode is gone, and the PR team is not interested in bringing it back at this time. Further discussion on the subject is a bit pointless. Of course the community is free to make a kashan training map and run it as such, assuming they follow the rules posted in this thread:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388-p ... -maps.html
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388-p ... -maps.html
1. Server must be passworded at all times if running both custom and normal maps.
2. Server Name must have "Custom Map(s)" in it if running a Custom Map(s).
3. Server must have ingame - announcements that this server is running a custom map and not an Official PR Map
(Points 1 - 3 will stop players CTDing if they join while a normal map is being played)
4. Maps must use the Custom Map Overview and Loading screen template.
5. Map Must be renamed.
6. Map must fit into the PR Style of gameplay, and not have short respawns and other things that conflict with PR's gameplay.
7. Before starting any customisation to a map, you must seek permission, via the forum's Private Messaging System, with a description of your intended map edits from a Red Tag Dev, and 'cc' the Creator too (Out of courtesy and so we can keep track of things).
8. If all is fine you will be given the OK for your map by the Red Tag which can then be used in accordance with points 1-6, regarding the server rules etc.
