Ye im in no rush lol, thats why im only getting one item each week. plus got xmas presents to get aswell so I cant get it all at once :(
'[R-COM wrote:SnipingCoward;1489546']I do have the same mobo and might give you a few hints to save you some trouble.

Here is what I had to deal with and how I solved it:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f358-s ... t-6gb.html

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f358-s ... opped.html

FYI:
Shipped SATA cables are SATA-II cables, if you ever plan on using that SATA-III bus you have to get new cables as well.
And my RAM timings on mobo's default were wrong... too slow. I had to manually adjust it in bios.
Thanks for the info mate its much appreciated, If I have the problems like you did I will check out your solved problem.

I suggest you take preemptive measures. Updating the BIOS before setting up windows should save you all the trouble I had.

How do you update BIOS before installing windows? Use a second internet connected computer to DL the update then use a CD or flash to load it?

Good question.
You can either just install a raw version of windows update the bios, wipe windows and reinstall (which saves you the trouble of installing it fully and having to reinstall after the bios update - like I did).

Or do it before hand with Q-Flash. Refere to your Manual Section "4-2 BIOS Update Utilities".
What is Q-Flash??
With Q-Flash you can update the system BIOS without having to enter operating systems like MS-DOS or Window first. Embedded in the BIOS, the Q-Flash tool frees you from the hassles of going through complicated BIOS flashing process.

Hey Mike, have you decided on waiting for the Radeon 6900s for the 580's price to drop? Also, any recommendations on which gtx 580 to get?

Ye im going to wait and get my grfx card last because its the most expensive thing so hopefully when ive got everything else and when I come to buy the gtx 580 it will have dropped in price.(finger crossed)
And Im going for the Gigabyte GTX 580, only because its the same name as my motherboard.

Buying the EXACT same comp as Mike with his help.

So far ordered the case, motherboard, cpu cooler, harddrive and optical drive. Should all arrive within the next week. Planning to do the same as Mike and buy all the parts over next few months. Although i may build the comp and use some parts out of my current comp for the time being such as the gpu, moniter, keyboard, mouse and such.

Smart but just make sure as you noted to get the "important" stuff first.

So you're getting the exact same stuff. keyboard and monitor wise?

pretty much everything that goes inside the comp will be the exact same. Chances are i will get the same moniter but may search around as well, but don't really need a new keyboard or mouse and I am comfortable with the ones i have now.
