The A-10 is from USI (the AF one is really bad
) and all the AKs are either PR's or USIs.

What other improvements might be possible using custom shaders?[R-DEV]Sniperdog wrote:The Thermal Imaging that Mosquill did was done entirely by using custom shaders as an example of how much potential there is in that process.
Not asking to disclose anything that's actually WIP just curious about it generally.

Russian voiceovers are completely custom (courtesy of [R-DEV]Nosferatu) and the British are custom crossed with BF2SF SAS voices.Wh33lman wrote: edit: Russian voices from SF, and i think the British are a frankenstein of SF SAS, EF, and 2142 EU.

That fugly Chinese offroad buggy with the ugliest .50 in the game (Look there is a triangle at the end of my barrel...). I'm always surprised to still see this horribly modeled asset driving around in PR, it's well below the standards imo.

And Ah-64 Apache model in PR is from Special Forces ?

Re: What is left from vanilla?
Because they are an important rifle/weapon that can be used in any later PR game/mod like PR2 or Arma's PR. Making PRs own library of models larger is important because once we stop using the BF2 game we wont have those anymore like with PR2 and Arma's PR.AriX17 wrote:Hm,why PR team make new weapon models(M24 marksman rifle,AK-47 & SVD) when they allready are in vanilla ?

And because the models our team made are just... better.

Yeah, there's no need to recreate a Challenger II when it's already in BF2, right?

Re: What is left from vanilla?
black hawk just has a retexture and some extra stuff added (air vents, some other things) but its vbf2.
gary (aka OMG Truck) has always been in BF2 files but was never fully completed. Those who remember PR v0.3 will remember the OMG truck hidden on CP Abadan, and being nearly indestructible (especially the back container plating). Also quite hilarious was the driver was invisible and it didnt really make much sounds, so you could park it somewhere, and the enemy really wouldnt notice you, and you could hide on the flag and have squad members spawn on you as squad leader

Re: What is left from vanilla?
I'm very interested in getting a complete list of VBF2 files used in PR.
Here is why:
I currently have 8GB of RAM.
I can run an optimized Win7 or Win2008r2 or WinXPx64 and use as little as 450MB of RAM.
I can run BF2
R and set aside the remaining 2.55GB for the game.
I can then make a RAMDISK using a newer version of lyh RRAMdisk or Dataram RAMDisk_V3.5.X on the 5GB I have left.
I would then create a new drive partition on a standard hdd and reinstall a slimmed down version of BF2 and PR to get it under 5GB, remove all unnecessary BF2v files and then clone the drive to the RAMdisk.
This is easy if I had 12 or more GBs of RAM. On 8Gb I am not sure it's possible,
(and would need considerable help to get it done, i just don't know what's under the hood in bf2)
If anyone is interested in building a stripped down version of BF2 and PR for RamDisks, and a installation tutorial guide to do so, or maybe build an automated script to delete unneeded files on a fresh hdd partition to help others in the future... let me know.
And before you ask, YES it is overkill. SO is a Chevy 454 stroked and bored to a 572... and it feels so right.

Be glad that you can reuse so much stuff from vanilla. Fh2 had to create everything themselves except some desert vergitation, some middle eastern ruin statics and the 50cal machine gun (although that one received a new model in 2.3)

heres an idea, instead of complaining, how about you go model a new one?Murphy wrote:That fugly Chinese offroad buggy with the ugliest .50 in the game (Look there is a triangle at the end of my barrel...).
