OKAY PRTA WE NEED TO HAVE A CHAT.

(public matches not events!!!!! which is how you judge the merit of a real server, because while events can be more organised they also cater to some players who don't practise or play pubby matches.)

The last games i have played in have been terrible. its due to a whole heap of reasons but im going to throw some out there for you. and im also going to tell you the good things about PRTA and then what i think you should do to make them better.

Teamwork
Okay so most if not all the PRTA members and players want to be good team-members but in a REALLY stupid self centered way! I'm European and i know most Europeans have language issues and bad communications, i live with a native polish person and a native italian person and their english is terrible. But i can understand them just fine!!! dont be afraid to talk to each other. (sorry i cant speak your language, i only speak english, gaelic and bullshit.) :D

Stop just grabbing stuff like HAT and not telling people! dont mortar positions without getting clearance first! ask for permittion to do stuff, its not a sign of weakness its a sign of good manners, intellect and civility!

Mumble
PRTA needs strict rules in order to work. some of which should be...
*ALL squad leaders must be in squad leader channel in mumble!!!
if your not in the squad leader channel then that shows how much you really care about the outcome of the battle, and thats not teamwork. thats selfishness.
*All squad leaders must use the radio in your officer kits to call in all targets!
(how do you inforce such a rule? you cant, not as far as i can see anyway. but it accurrs to me that if there is a general mentality set then everyone will do it. and all you have to do is spam use your radio in console to remind squad leaders to use their radios. it might seem a stupid way to make things work but the fact is i would bet my life that it would work.

Admins
You are everywhere you just dont know it yet. become an admin if you are worth it. learn the commands and kick Idlers and squadless gimps to make space for good players. im not an admin but i was recently offered a place, andim considering it now simply because the community in PRTA was filling the server as much as TG was, only this time the ping is nice. selfish reason yes, but it has made me want to help the admins out. (reason i didnt want it in the first place was because i did admin for TCC and i know how enoying it is to deal with noobs all the time.)

currently existing admins... expand your workforce. i didnt see any admins on today when some idiot was mortaring friendlies for shits n' giggles.

Im kinda angry that after all the time i have spent playing PR and the thousands of hours i put into squad leading my greatest enemy is common sense!!! im a good squad leader. Good squad leaders are rare, dont chase them all away with this sillyness.

Moral
the Europeans like i said before have communication problems, after about 3000 years of beating the **** out of each other we are all suddenly holding hands awkwardly, united under the EU flag wondering...just..."how the hell we actually got to this place and time."
Now we make up for that lack of warfare by killing ourselves in a digital battlefield.

The Americans have great moral, thats why they regularly have great teamwork when they play late at night (late for us) as USMC vs Taliban. Its the power of positive thought. same with the British, in their own way they communicate well. And im betting the Germans play better when they play as germans, allthough i bet they wish they had their HAT. (dont worry you'll get it eventually)

The PRTA community is actually worth investing time in! but if your going to invest SO MUCH OF THAT TIME in it, then perhaps you should PLAY properly.

Now as i finish this rant i'd like to note that this message is not racist or supposed to enrage or troll anyone. over and out. and i'm not drunk :P

I agree with Psyko on many points.

In the days of IGI and following RT there was plenty of population that wanted teamwork and were able to work together in one language. These days many teamwork players are playing ARMA and other games.

The new PRTA community emcompasses many Eastern Europe and Russian players of which some have limited English, or are shy to use what they have.

What I find sad is there are often locked sqauds using TS to not annoy other players by constant Hungarian, Latvian, Polish or Russian being heard when close in Mumble, which is understandable but leads to seperate little groups that never have anyone else in their sqauds and on many instances don't respond atall in Mumble, also new players would never be able to share their gameplay experience.

I agree that the maplist needs a good sort out, but it is being dealt with.

As Psyko points out it is good to have a good Euro ping mumble server up again it's been too long without one. It is also nice to see NWA using so much more mumble and to the players that appreciate a one channel mumble system it also offers a good experience.

To finish on a more optimistic note, thanks to all who have helped bring this to reality, particulally Wicca who has accompolished alot, also thanks to all the good community SL's that bring a good gameplay style to all players on the server, Gazzthompson, Skull, Wicca, Mr Hyde to name but a few.

Its a shame i'm wrapping up my education and have virtually NO time to play. When I had a day to play a few weeks ago I focused on getting everyone mumble and it worked. Just warning people and even kicking them. Locked my admin *** in a squad to make sure everyone was on Mumble.

I'm hoping that when I actually finish my education and I'm still within the admin ranks to do that more often. I should be able to play PR regulary and make help out. I think some other admins are in the same deal as me. Thats why it can be chaotic at times.

All good feedback but I personally cant help out right now. I intend to come back and do right tho! That will still leave us with the locked squads tho.

Only reason we played with the shit maplist last night was to see if the server crashes. I believe we had quite a few rounds in a row with no problems, so its safe to say !setnext wont be used much. If you guys have any maplist suggestions, you can post on our forums and we will have a look at them.

It's safe to say that Muttrah is not overplayed on PRTA since all our admins keep telling me it's overplayed yet I haven't seen Muttrah on PRTA in ages.

Sense, Some make none. Also admins need to get harsher...

Also all the clans participating in this. It's not the best way to have a server, all these clans now play on the server and create their own squads. With their own languages. I am as close to say that we should enforce squads to speak english only and locked squads due to language to be disallowed.

sadly, this isn't the case. For starters there are NO mumblers exept the alliance members. If we play a skirmish map and some team is outnumbered and outplayed these people will not halt and perhaps let come back in the fight again. Even if I tell them to.

Yeah but the snow maps we played was really sheit, gameplay wise. However I don't think muttrah and kozelsk was so bad.

Had some good games on this server the past couple of days. Yesterday was really good as well. Seemed like good Mumble coordination and good teams. Felt a lot like the PRT matches. The thrills, tentions and teamwork parts that is ;)

My only real problem with this server is that on most of the times, the teams are horribly stacked as shown on the screenshots posted by grober on page 4. This happens to much to make it bearable to be honest. If im on the winning, usually cooperating team im having the best pr time of my life, but the loosing team without all the clan players/community players, Yarrrrgh.

We are aware that this problem occurs sometimes. I wouldn't agree it's most of the time though. :) Many of our players switch to the losing team when needed.
