that was counter-attack. the flags became cappable again after some time.

Assault on Mestia and OGT.

Loved those two so much, great CQB combat and something that I feel is sadly missing from PR nowadays, there is nothing wrong with fast paced close quarter infantry fighting and it just isn't possible on 4km maps most of the time.

This.

And as some people said before... Nostalgia about the old rally system... Of course it was a little weird since you could turn any hut into an army teleport center... But I miss go rally hunting... So satisfying when you actually found a rally (before it simply got overun, just unspawnable...)

[R-MOD]BloodBane611 wrote:Agreed. Zatar was awesome, though the fact that the T-72s could rape the LHD from the last flag was a bit of an issue

Still, when I first joined that was the map that I loved playing the most in PR, was epic fun.
Dome of Death FTW? Or could the US rape the tanks with attack hueys and Cobras?

id say zatar would be great with some heavy Asymetry now.

US versus lets say, china (just to be different) US's main weapon of choice is the A-10. cobra would be just like muttrah and thats got it's own thing. throw down some new statics like trees and some enterable buildings on the parts of the map that are baldy and make it a dusk map. i'd probibly not have the pipelines. they were really enoying. thats what ruined al kufra oilfields imo.

inf with A-10 support versus Inf with ZPUs.

barracuda has the sun in the carrier's direction, this time for a change have the sun in the invader's eyes coming from south west. and throw down some walls and stuff to make cool firefights accros the marshes.

i think you could revamp zatar quite well. would be better off doing it from scratch. 4k map, little bit of ocean and lots of marshland. great lasing map. but i wouldnt help people build stuff up on the airfield mountains, that was very annoying and it ruins the emmersion.

If you played it again now, even with a full server etc it wouldn't be anything like as good as you remember :p
That may be true that I am a bit nostalgic, but I think I would still stand by my words. I think it is safe to say this stuff in public as I am no longer wearing tags...

Personally I am much more of a tactical gamer, not a simulator player.

By tactical I mean games such as Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six ect. Where it can be a bit fast paced and what really determines your experience is your skill with a weapon and utilizing it correctly + teamwork of course.

In my honest opinion PR was like this when I started out playing and hobby modding for it, but over the years people (developers and gamers alike) wanted realism, "because it is used IRL" is often the argument and not really about game play. Thus turning PR from tactical "fun" (in my book) game play in to a simulator basically.

Now current day PR is still one of my favorites, don't get me wrong here, but my personal preference is just more in another genre. Hence my argument.

Then PR was more fast paced game play in a plausible realistic, (perhaps a little stylized/representive environment/setting) where now it is slow paced and so detail focused that I hardly know how to use all of the functions in the game - and I was a developer for pete's sake :D

Just my opinion, PR can still encompass this game play I speak of, but just not as frequently, but I still play when my computer and time allows me to :)

Is it true that the PR developers must have a hooker and drug dealer on speed dial? Also where does all of the donation money go *shines lights in eyes* we know that this whole up keeping site stuff is rubbish. Where does it go *begins slapping him*

Mestia and 7 gates! They were my favorite maps. I loved setting up ambushes on Mestia and having my whole squad open fire at once. Also getting ambushed and trying to run for cover and regroup could be exciting. I wonder how these map would play now that we have mortars though. It would make defending any of the outposts really difficult.
