Well, I still think that simply having a # (with I don't know, the added "coding") is the simplest idea. And you know, we ought to get the # known. There is no need to know what |, + or > stand for. This would be something more internal. But if anyone sees # they know they can trust him - just sure on what
And the point of this tag,
as far as I am concerned, is to let people know they can trust us - we ain't asshats. (ie. We won't take the sniper0z or the marksm4n kit without asking first). The thing would be that this tag would be spread around like a cancer and from word of mouth. Sure we can have a thread explaning the "coding" (which is as simple as:
| INF
+ AIR
> ARMOR
|| ALL).
But if we want this tag to achieve what we want (ie. instant respect/credibility), each one who uses it has to be a good teamplayer. If you are in the mood for some trolling, you go ahead and remove the tags. (Might as well remove PR too

)
You know, just because we are "serious" players that doesn't mean we can't have fun... What's more fun than hoping into the copilot's seat and mumble with the pilot while you all ascend while spinning like crazy?

I gotta say, this is

Final version?
# = The Main Tag. No extension means you are interested in all categories.
Tag Extensions (Use along with main tag.)
! = Infantry
+ = Air
> = Armor
---
Example:
#!> = Serious Player, Infantry, Armor

Yes.
Anyone any regrets/comments before we make this "official"?

Works for me. I will fix my account tonight when I get home! We are putting this in the 'clan tag' box correct?

When you log in to PR or BF2, there's a PREFIX box that most people use to place their clan name in. Put it there or add it to your clan name. Remember that there are only 6 characters total allowed in the prefix.
e.g.
#[MYCLAN] (
Observe that this example uses more than 6 characters. If you tried this exact example, you would only get "#[MYCL", as the BF2 engine removes whatever characters are left over.)
T.A.Sharps wrote:I personally don't think we would need extra symbols to clutter things and confuse people.
It would be a matter of choice, but if you see someone join using extended symbols and you are doing one of those functions, you can invite them into your squad/ give them preference.

I honestly don't see the utility in adding the extra signs for Air, Inf, and Arm when you can just name the squad that way.. plus you can usually tell by looking at their kit icon what they are going to be. And some people switch a lot. I can just see people nagging on someone who has the Armor tag but is flying around in a chopper half the game... or switches teams and goes as a civilian.. I dunno!? lol
I see it more practical to only have TWO distinctions. # for Teamwork oriented player and ## for Teamwork oriented player willing to serve as squad leader if necessary. Clean & simple. Some people are not up for being a SL and it would be nice to be able to spot the ones who are.

Should VOIP be required to wear the tags? I think so.

Well, here's my 2 cent:
1st cent: privetdoodles
2nd cent: any other teamwork-oriented non-VOIP player.
Hell, I can't use VOIP
all the time. And I don't think "segregating" a part of the community is the way to go with this tag.
I was thinking about creating a page for this "tag" on the clans section, just explaining what it is. But we can keep it as a word-of-mouth. Your guys' pick. If you guys want a page, I'll (or anyone, really) can type it up. I would actually find that rspaulding introducing this would make sense, since I believe this was his idea.
By having this thread we could link the "#" in your signature so people can learn what it is... You know

This:

and this:
T.A.Sharps wrote:# would simply mean, "I'm not an f-tard".
These sum up pretty nicely what the # stands for.

So one last thing that isn't clear.
Do you guys want to make a thread explaining what is this?
Or leave it exclusivily to the word-of-mouth?
I'm fine with both, since they both make sense...
