What made you aware of PR: I was looking in my games and i found BF 2 so i made a little googling to see if the game is still alive and i found PR. Reading about it made me anxious to play it.

What do you expect: Well i sure hope some tactical gameplay and finally no more bunny hopping players (try doing that on a real battlefield with 20+kg of equipment on you)

Who are you: As i said i am an ex Green Berret for the Greek Special Forces, nowdays working as a Security Cons, when i have some hours to spare i love playing FPS and strategy games or just having a blow with my mates playing airsoft

Experience in FPS/Tactical Games:
Played a lot of console and some PC. First started to play MW2 on my xbox. I am pretty good at it. Then i got into Bad Company 2, played that until Black Ops, which i have stopped playing because i do not find it enjoyable.
On the PC i have played some CS:S, CS:S Beta, Team Fortress 2, Battlefield Heroes, and a few others.

What made you aware of PR:
Saw a youtube video on it. I watched more, read the forums, and then i bought BF2 on my PC(yesterday) to play it.

What do you expect:
Not sure. I am not very familiar with the game. I read the handbook but it was a lot to comprehend. BTW, i can't fly helicopters...

Who are you:
My name is Ethan. I like to play video games and I am also a very active person. I am in high school and I run Cross Country + Track (I aint bad at it either). I am very interested in team/squad based games that require a tactical approach and teamwork. I don't mind a slow paced game as long as my party members have a mic. I occasionally play airsoft with my friends. I also manage a small minecraft gaming community. We have around 150 forum members and we get a good amount of traffic on our server. On a side note, today i was riding my road bike, over some wet leaves, during a turn, and i wiped out. My rear de-railer broke from the chain getting jammed. I also have a huge bruise on my hip.
Thats all i can think of for now...

Why are you stopping this at christmas? Its such a cool group!

What do you expect: Serious players looking for a tactical style of gameplay along with action!

Experience in FPS/Tactical Games: Love playing Battlefield 2142 on the PC and Bad Company 2 on XBL.

What made you aware of PR: Always heard about how good it is, never got around to trying it. The other day I was lamenting about how I don't have FP2 or ArmA2 (or a PC able to run them well) for some good tactical fps action, then I remembered I have BF2 and I could give PR a shot. Watched some youtube videos; read the manual; I think I might like it alot.

What do you expect: Tactical team fun.

Who are you: My name is Andrew, I'm a part-time web designer and I enjoy cooperative games alot.

Hi!

Ingame name: ishinay

Age: 28

Experience in FPS/Tactical Games: I played Wolfestein 3D, (mastered) Doom, Doom 2, Battlefield Vietnam (and Star Wars flavour),Counter Strike, and recently (a month) I bought Battlefield 2. As a tactical game is valid "Alien Swarm"? :P

What made you aware of PR: I don't remember. I was going to delete Battlefield 2 because of the "jumping bunnies" and found a "realistic project". I'm like a handless with a mouse. I have a 600dpi mouse. I'm slow, but I think in war a mouse is not determinant ;) It should be more strategic.

What do you expect: Good team work. Strategy. Feel I'm useful even being handless (metaphorically speaking). Oh, and improve my english :)

Who are you: I'm just a guy who plays horrible to FPS.

I will enrole to new player training! :)

Above all interested in learning how to fly. Also...how many US servers are there? I can find only 2 or 3 servers where I can play with a ping under 100.

There should be a few American servers although ping isn't important in PR, gameplay is relatively slow compared to other FPS games like COD and having a 200/300 ping is hardly noticeable.

If you got xfire, you can join the training group.. Once you're in you can find me there as instructor. I mostly play as infantry but also like to fly transport. I assume you know how to fly in BF2v, for PR the major differences are:
  • The "30sec warm-up" (don't try to take off in this period or the chopper will most likely crash).
  • The "S" key will make your chopper drop really fast don't ever hold this button only tap it (suggest you test holding it at an altitude of 300+ so you know what it does).
  • The tail rotor doesn't function at high speeds so you need to roll the chopper to steer at high speeds.
The rest is pretty much the same as normal BF2 and practice will make sure you get to know the handling, landing can be difficult as well at times. I used to create a coop without bots and then fly around the map trying to land in all spots I could come up with.

For planes I suggest watching this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv99q75O_f0

Practice makes perfect.
