I think infantry players are quick to criticize pilots for their percieved ineptitude, while they themselves wouldn't be able to even fly the choppers in the first place.
Flying from point A to point B in PR is difficult in itself, add in the vast number of assets that can kill you (tanks, APCs, MANPADs, AA, .50 cals, infantry with scoped weapons, HAT) and it's even more difficult.
I understand the criticism of people who have problems flying due to their computers, and I agree that they should not get in a helicopter if they know there's a risk.
Personally, when I'm having lag spikes I won't fly a chopper. Likewise, if someone askes me to insert him alone into some random, dangerous part of the map just so he can be a 1337snip0r, I will refuse.
However, be careful with your criticism.
And keep in mind that if you need a chopper to transport you frequently from a carrier or mainbase, it means that
A. You are not building and defending firebases well enough
and
B. You are dying very frequently and need someone else's help to do something that you should be able to do yourself.

What i don't get is why should the transport put his life and the choppers life in the line of fire for an INF SQ that wants to be super bad ***.
In every game i played if i loses the Heli i get screamed at, i come pick up a Sq i die, i get screamed at by the inf sq,
i dont land them were i dont want them to because the areas considered hot im SCREAMED AT BY THE FEN INF SQ. if your an INF guy and your heli guy iv aggeded to drop you there Thank his royal A$$, Transport have one of the most pressures playing the game
since if we get taken down on an invasion map, our team has no transport what so ever. And if you dont like us would you care to take a WALK?
Sorry i got so angry, i just need to get that off my chest, Helis get no slack.
Just one more note, Kashan the tanks and APC get taken out its around 70-80 tickets? right, no one cares oh well lets wait for more. Trans gose down, ZOMG NOOB RTFM UR LOSING TICKETS?!

Can I haz my own rant?
Over the past month Ive flown and trained alot just to be good at the CAS Huey. And now since I stoped doing inf. just for it, I started noticing whats happining with the poor CAS Huey on a maps like Muttrah. People rush to make squads for it even before Cobra why? becuase you can "one man" it. These people end up living only 10 minutes, hell yesterday on HOG I saw it get killed by a HAT 6 minutes into the game, to say the least it really pissed me off.
Dont fly it unless you youve been flying trans and done alot of coop, and always have a spotter sitting next to you.

From an irritated squad member: PILOTS, BE ON MUMBLE! I don't have any time to stop and type out the positions of all the AA you just landed near. For extraction's sake, I need to f*&%ing talk to you.

lol win ^
also as both a decent pilot and a solid inf sl I dont blame the pilot for Dc's as it happens to the best of us.
Ive dc'd landing with the Mig on Silent eagle and hit a cow landing which rammed the havoc and hit the other cow. (friend saw whole thing from runway)
Ive also gotten squad wiped on the way to a cache in kokan in the bh that caused the bh to get shot down when he turned since half his heli just had heart attacks.
Like i said it happens to the best of us and I think all names and examples aside, dtacs was just saying, dont take assets if you have connection problems.
Ive played with Sax and Dtacs and I think they're both awesome and I love squaddin with dtacts and I know Sax will be able to drop me where I want with a good track record.
But I feel both sides pain and I heave a hefty sigh whenever Im flying/riding and I see those famous last words.
"There is a problem with your connection"
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUu
that is all.

Yes, I did mean CTD. Connection issues, probably 50/50 of the pilot, and of the Internet deciding to take a dump. Anything else, pilots fault, from AA to blaintly crashing on the ground for whatever reason. If he wants to fly, he needs to know the capabilities that aircraft is capable of doing and must be able to adapt should oh I don't know, an AA or TECHNICAL decide to pop up. And should have the skill necessary to make it in/out ALIVE.
ON TOPIC: Pilots that CTD alot for whatever reason, needs to fix it ASAP.

Any suggestions how to fix it? Because believe me, I hate CTD.

I'm sure it's being worked on. .96 people, it's going to be great.

If he's getting attacked or shot down in an area that's controlled by friendlies, then the people on the ground aren't doing their job by either killing the threat before it can harm the helicopter, or warning the pilots that they're in danger.
If the pilot is flying into hostile territory where the enemy likely has AA coverage and other weapons to bring down the chopper, the passangers should understand the risk and know there's a chance they won't survive.
If I'm ever taking people into a dangerous area, I will always warn them of the threat, and if I think my chances of survival are close to zero, I'll just ask if I can drop them further away for safety.
