I wish I was 1337. I am pretty 1337 with the grenade launcher. But that is about it.

I know what my squad is doing, I know what my entire team is doing, I know what my enemy is doing, I know everything...

Ha ha yea... especially all the god-like votes. I think I've seen 1 or 2 people who practically picked up every moving mouse on the map no matter what they where doing. Someone here is either cheating or lien

i think that it changes during round because of this....
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... break.html
so when theres no hard action im good about things what happen around me but when thing get nasty and i get little exited,i come less aware of things.
so,little break,check your map,reload your gun,chill out a while...im back in full form.

As a "professional" SAW gunner in my clan I have a lot to worry about... Using hearing only to spot danger in close proximity, sight to spot targets at long distance and map to monitor friendlies movement so I can engage as fast as possible without wasting precious time for double checking targets when covering my squads ***, is really challenging

Still, I saved my squad-mates countless times, made their job easier during assaults and gained their trust, so I guess mine situational awareness is much above standard.

Imo it seems that ppl are highly overrating their own skill, most of the players ingame dont understand a darn thing about whats happening in the game. Especially if you tend to follow the map, and observe what other squads are doing and also asking them what the hell they are thinking, you can get good picture that they dont see half of the stuff whats happening in the gameplay.. the stuff they are doing were often good ideas some time ago, but are useless in current and near-future situations, they have lost track on what others (friendlies and enemies) have done since they last time checked.
Personally i depend entirely on situational awareness when trying to kill an enemy or lead a squad, i dont trust my weapon to hit the target or my squadmembers ability to beat the enemy but i trust myself getting me/my squad into situations where accuracy and skill are meaningless. Talking about surprise, if you have good situational awareness, you know what most of the friendlies and many of the enemies are going to do before they do it and therefore you always have advantage even if you are alone against pro-teamworkers.
Its important to think about all the possibilities of "what the enemy might be doing" and "what the enemy might do next".. but almost as important is to know what friendlies are doing and what they might do next.. By thinking these 4 things realisticly you can find out that your guesses are correct quite often.
Benefit of knowing your friendlies next step is that you can abuse it, if you know for example that they are going to pull enemy's attention on themselves (most ppl starts shooting right when they see hostile), you can abuse it so that you get to sneak behind the enemy and kill entire squad because their attention is pulled elsewhere. (keep in mind that most of those friendlies who are pulling the enemy's attention, are most likely having crappy situational awareness and are therefore going to shoot you as well.)
On more intense situations where you are alone vs many, putting yourself on enemy's boots is one of best ways to beat the enemy. Often in close combat when you shoot long burst and then go behind a corner, most enemies thinks they know your next step, (which is to sit down and reload or reload while running further away before enemy comes around the corner and kills you), so best tactic is to change your next step to something less obvious, for example instead of reloading your almost empty weapon or trying to run away before enemy comes around the corner, just go ahead and charge with 5 bullets in the clip, thats surely something nobody expects and thats why its so effective.

To explain it in another way, it means how aware you are of whats going on around you!
Thanks for making the poll admin
- Poor awareness: I only know whats going on in-front of myself
- Less than average awareness: I can tell if I'm nearby my own squad-members etc.
- Average awareness: I sometimes shoot friendly s that sneak up behind me because i thought it was an enemy but i normally know where friends and enemy's are.
- Better than average: I can almost tell where things are just by listening to the sound directions and by heavy use of my map. I know if I'm looking at a friend or foe before the "name tag" appear.
- Great awareness: I never team-kill unless if my friend is doing some stupid thing like running in-front of me while i shoot, but tank or helicopter sounds can trick me.
- Godlike awareness: I play as if i have eyes in the back of my head and ears like a fox, even if I'm in a tank or helicopter.
Post your comments on what you think is your awareness level.... make up your own if these don't suit you.
I would say that I have Better to great situational awareness in project reality. I very, very rarely teamkill. I haven't actually TKed anyone in over a year as an infantry man. That's not to say that I never do it as support though.
But my situational awareness in a tank is TERRIBLE.

I'd say i have fantastic situation awareness, but unfortunately its been to the cost of both my RL hearing and vision. Hopefully ill upgrade on of these days and ill be able to see shadows, long-distance blasts and muzzle reports.

I often squad lead and find my situational awareness can suffer from it. But hey, thats what squaddies are for: telling you where the bad guys are... and shooting them, and other important things

It is poor when I first get into a server. After 5 minutes it gets above average.

When I am alone or in a small group(1-3) its God-Like, but when I am in a big squad it goes to poor or average because I get lazy and I am usually surrounded by more competent people. : P

Mostly godlike actually. I pick up stuff other squadmemebers don't, and fill in when SL is busy. When I feel I have a competent SL, I take more initiative and I become the SLs right hand man. I enojoy being in a vehicle and reigning supreme.
Quite a different story when I squadlead. I lose all initiative, focus, tunnelvision and all round information overload. Unless I'm drunk, then I can sometimes find SLing quite fun. But usually my SA drops to nil.

My situational awareness is below average. However, I am always trying to learn from my mistakes and keep improving.

I have a hard enough time determining friend from foe (or) both because of the limited mini map
also noticed trying to look threw thick brush maps that impair your vision doesn't help situational awareness.
another annoying similar fact I noticed is that the AI see & notice YOU when your crosshairs move
past or near them instantly sometimes even if you can't see them

Everyone will say their Awareness is very good, but that it could improve to God-like, we're not the best judges of ourselves.
