Re: It's been a year. Any Progress?

All of this is merely speculation. How can you comment on the speed of PR Vietnam's development when you do not have access to the developer forums? Everything you have posted is unfounded and merely hearsay, yet you present it as if you have a vast depth of knowledge (which you do not) or great insight into the project. Just because you feel the project should be "put out soon so it can just be over and done with, or cancelled entirely so development is put into more pressing areas" does not reflect the opinion of the communities wishes. Some people are still excited about PR:V release even if you are not, and I do not see why you should be one to pass judgment on which areas are more pressing than others. I find your post defamatory and unhelpful, and because of this I have reported this to the moderators, to see if they agree with my point of view.dtacs wrote:Vietnam is being developed, but just at a very slow and frameless rate. Development was spread over PRA2, PRBF2, PR2 and PRV - basically biting off more than one can chew - hence why the developers asked the community to try to make some maps for it, in order to be a proper release and not just a gimmick.
The hype lasted until people realized that the quality of work being presented wasn't on par with PR itself, plus the lack of updates didn't keep public interest high (EX this thread). Majority, if not all of the work is being ported from Eve of Destruction 2 including assets, skins and maps. I personally would like to see some screenies which aren't lackluster or look exactly the same as EoD2.
Hopefully the project is put out soon so it can just be over and done with, or cancelled entirely so development is put into more pressing areas. Cancellation would ruffle a few feathers, but people will forget about it in mere days.
If anyone wants it to be put out as soon as possible, check out this thread and see help with the mapping. Since its 'just around the corner', mapping should be the final piece in the puzzle.
And with all those damn medics who never try to help you. Only steal your kit and run away.oh just imagine eod with 2?2km maps or... dare I say 4?4km? an eod with PR animations and weapon and vehicle handling, coupled with 3d sights...
I don't wish for this to develop into an elaborate back and forth unless a mod deems it a valid discussion, so I'll just say that my post was perfectly within forum rules. I answered a question presented by another forum member even giving information on how PRV can be released sooner.[R-DEV]Matrox wrote:All of this is merely speculation. Please, do stop posting such trife as if you are a member of the dev team whith a vast knowledge of how to develop a mod for BF2. You have no real hard evidence of what is occurring within our development cycle, and all of your facts have been based around the little we have released. I do feel very sympathetic for those who do give up their free time to work on PR:V. As I'm sure if they read your post, they will most likely want to throw in the towel.
At no point was your post constructive in anyway, and I do think you should put out an apology.
That just proved Dtac had something right in there[R-DEV]Matrox wrote:All of this is merely speculation. That's right!angellfall wrote:That just proved Dtac had something right in there
In what he said there is nothing wrong. If you dont want to any "speculation" to develop on these forums then you keep the community posted HOW things are... That is just common sence.
What comes to the interest of community about the pr:v I dont think there really is any anymore... There is just punch of ppl talking about it every now and then. No hype... never heard anybody to mention the mod on the server during gameplay... there are just these forums to tell it coming someday...
speculation normally isn't a problem, but those negative waves man. saying to the dev's that they should quit this project right in their faces is just uncalled for and not exactly the community input that helps people stay motivated.angellfall wrote:That just proved Dtac had something right in there

Leo76 wrote:Is it possible to make just new factions with new maps to add to the normal PR (with a future patch) so that people wouldn't have to download a separate mod? There could just be PR:V servers or mixed servers. Perhaps that would make it easier to get players on PR:V because even the normal PR doesn't have too many players. Just some thoughts feel free to criticize.
doggreen wrote:excellent idea! And it would add the following suggestion.
Why not launch 2 or 3 maps of PR V in the same package update PR?
We would have the following advantages
There would be no need for a specific package for client and server, for which he is integrated into the package of PR (client and server).
Problems after to find specific servers to run PR V
Being the PR V (some maps) within the package of PR is easier for Administraor server control by the criteria that will be put them in their map list.
In addition players may opinionated and reports for the gameplay is good, if there is bugs, exploits, etc. ..
They are the players who will say that the MOD is outstanting or not ..
With that, I understand that the DEV'S will save time and labor, which is very precious!
Thus they could decide whether it's worth going ahead or not with the MOD V PR and what do you think?
Maybe, it's a good idea. But, in my opinion, the separate mod is the best variant.doggreen wrote:There is less for PR to become a full game, it would be unique MOD to cover the main conflicts of the last 80 years .. (Normandy - Vietnam & Middle East) ..
Follows the suggestion in another post left what do you think?
