Whenever you log onto mumble, if there is a newer snapshot it'll be displayed in the left console with a link to the newest one. So if you log on and there's a link, just follow it's instructions. Took me no more than 30 seconds to download and setup.

Hey guys! i have few questions.
1. What is it snapshot?

3. Just a question, how should i suppos to know if the people in the channel are in the same server i am?
And how may i configure from which distance i want hear the players?

Arkadi... with the time you lost writing this post, you would have found your answers by reading this thread. Read! Theses questions have been asked and answered several time already.
Oh hell

:
1. Snapshots are the newest version of mumble available for download. As said right above your post, you'll see a link in the left console of mumble when a new one is available.
2. IF, only IF you set up your program right that's exactly what's going to happen. In fact more than 70m and you won't hear them. Yes the bf2 voip still works but it limits your communications with your squadmates.
3. Very easy, on the server found in my next link, every popular server has it's own channel so just double click on the name of your server in the servers list. That will put you in the good channel.
You see, you read it this far

! Now PLEASE, read this post entirely to set up mumble right because people who don't set it up right have bad experiences AND give bad experiences to people who did set it up right :

Any chance the iGi channel can have it's name corrected? At the moment, it's called Gi... well confused me for like 30 seconds the other day, 30 seconds I could have being playing PR that I'll never get back!

Can't believe how hard it is for some people!
Your settings are wrong and your overlay is on, that's why you see all the names and hear everyone.

Ya IMO i got it all fixed..
But, i see 2 channels inside the Tcombat one, one Sq1 and other Sq2 or something. I guess Squad 1 is for SL only?

I am confused, should we use Mumble r1522 wich is mentioned in
this thread or the latest version?

I don't think there should be SL to SL communication with mumble.. Because otherwise having a commander would be completely pointless really. And I like being commander! I like being helpful, relaying messages and keeping the different SQs aware of the movements across the battlefield.
;(

Unfortunately RedSparrow, you seem to be about the only person who likes being commander. I think that in all the many rounds I played, 2 or 3 had commander that weren't useless/annoying. Maybee it was you
The fact is that commanders are pretty rare and we need efficient communication between the squads. I still believe though that the two teams should have different channels (including one sub-channel for the squad leaders)
Also I’ve noticed a drop in mumble use recently. That is of course because people can’t set it right from the start and being on mumble theses days sound like a troubleshooting discussion most of the time. I think it’s time for a version who would be idiot proof based on PR which would have all the right settings that couldn’t be changed (only the settings that wouldn’t affect the gameplay could be changed) and more advertising (how about the window screen when you enter the game?)

Aww.. I think the last time I was commander I was drunk... :/
I know *I* had a good time that night, hahahaha.
EDIT: And I normally play commander on maps where there isn't my beloved helicopter.. I tend to dislike being stuck on the ground. The rest of my squad always seem to move too fast for me and I get left behind... ;( Then again, I do lost track of people easily. D:

I heard that there is a new snapshot out, v. 1581 .
Should we stay with the 1522 or move to the new one ?
