Whenever I go to insurgent/taliban in INS I just grab a Dragunov and wait. On Fallujah I stayed on a tower for 2 hours and killed 4 whole squads trying to sneak up on a cache (that they didn't get the whole round). Either that or I get a Strela / Stinger and just hunt down Kiowas. It's the only way I have fun as insurgent/taliban tbh, as coordination is practically unexistant 70% of the time.

I always go insurgent. Its a fun challenge to go head to head with a superior force. I love insurgent AK's etc.
Some of most fun stuff i do while im an insurgent is place IEDs and Mines under active enemy vehicles. Half the time they are just blind and alone..
plus i have no qualms when i die, since it is no ticket loss.

Nothing like blowing up enemy tanks/apcs or mowing down blufor infantry.

I usually just wander off alone, too.. If you stay with the pack of Insurgents you tend to die since your head-on with armor and an array of enemy infantry with scoped MGs and rifles.

I hate being insurgent as I can see how helpless they are against a Bradley in east side of Kokan which can stand here for 1 hour. With aware both driver and gunner you can rack up to 50 kills and hitting a Bradley with a RPG from such distance is close to impossible.

Always insurgent! But... Karbala= I leave the server, becouse it is the worst map ever and no balance. Again I say: who would build a city like that?

at first i prefered blufor for the simple reason that i work for blufor IRL. but now i thuroughly enjkoy playing INS. so many times i've been able to sneak around on my own and get the right angle on a location and wait for the blufor to roll in. at which point i either have an RPG or marksman rifle and rain hell on them.

BLUFOR. I find myself sitting on my butt for over an hour with no action whatsoever when I play insurgents.

I enjoy both sides of insurgency. I prefer to play as the OPFOR, due to being able to use unconventional tactics. My only dislike is the disadvantage that the OPFOR are at with the incorporation of thermals into the game. But, on the other hand I do like the added challenge of trying to make the BLUFOR fight on my terms.

BLUFOR all the way for me. For one thing, I feel like the more "professional" aesthetic of the blufor feels like it "fits" better with teamwork...whenever I play as a squadmember ins, I feel like the whole round consists of "aaaah run it's an LAV."

its not that hard to combat the thermals, this just means you have to fight up close or fight fast. my favorite part of playing an insurgent is figuring out how to out flank or sneak up to or ambush the stryker, or humvees or anything really.

first thing you have to pay attention to is terrain. use it to your full advantage, always make sure you know exactly where you're going and how you're going to get there unseen. pull up your map often and play with the SURVIVAL mind set and you'll be AOK. always take the time to think about what your enemy is thinking about.

i dunno about others but for me it takes all the more coordination to survive as insurgents. it takes a lot of planning and precise execution of said plan to pull the blufor into your turf and create a situation where you have the upper hand.

I think a large part of my problem is that not all ins players really like that level of coordination, and so they'll just do their own thing... it also could just be a manifestation of the age old "all of the good squads are full" problem.

Terrain in Insurgency is a godsend. I find even on Basrah it's possible to use it to mask you from an enemy AR or APC and let you sneak up on them.

I think in Ins people just go back to vBF2 play (i.e. spawn, die, repeat). When they start to play properly they stop getting 12 deaths and 3 kills and start taking down enemy assets. But it's frustrating to watch the learning process (if some even do learn).

If there are more than two blufor squads it can be double hard #grins# .. But they are hard to kill..


I do love playing as Insurgents for the David vs Goliath matches. But it frustrates me to no end having newer or lazier players spoil the round. The other day I told some guys at Kokan not to spawn at another unknown, and they told me 'Well if that's your atitude why not sit in main for the whole game'.

Also, even a few FOB's can be the difference between a good round and a terrible one as Ins, but more often than not on some servers I see full squads and they spawn in with the SL as rifleman who then picks up an RPG.. Last night I made my squad put up 5 FOBs, and only one other FOB was made by another friendly guy. Predictably everyone used the ones I put down, but never thought of making any.

Well in my experiance having 1-2 good squads and the rest a nice unorganized zerg-mob on the urban maps can be very effective. I've lost count on how many times a random player reveal the enemy, making the task of taking them out a lot easier. Or when the random guy lobs a grenade in a window saving your ***. And when the guns go off you know that they come running.

I dont see it as a problem. Its what makes Insurgency fun and unpredictable imo.

The problem I see with insurgency is the Bluefor seem to get unorganized after the first or second cache, and then its waiting for lonewolfs and maybe an apc or squad to come ever 30-40 minutes.

I would LOVE to play as insurgent for the sake of fairness but the strategy needed by INS guy is SO different from what BLUFOR usually do... It's a huge change for my style of play and I just never learned how to do it and I dont think that I wish since most of the insurgent guys dont know it either and if 1 sqd is working properly they still will have no chance of BLUFOR is organized, which is pretty often the case.

I may have posted this WAY earlier in the thread, not sure, but when I want to play with a squad, I prefer BLUFOR, but when I want to do some lonewolfing, I prefer insurgents.

I find playing as insurgents to be more fun. I remember a round of Fallujah where my squad took out a few APCs by crawling in the fields right next to them and placing an AT mine right in front of it. Such random moments make up all the annoying dying all the time things you get.

Coalition side, simply because I prefer the weapons and vehicles. I also like attacking more than defending.

I would have to say that playing insurgent is where i've had the most fun. although some of the most hilarious and intense games i've played have been as BLUFOR.

ins. because I love to get bunch of civilians in an empty Gary and let BLUFOR to massacre us.lolol
