Ok i got lightmapping working.

This is good news because i was angry. But i am now pleased. Also the errors in the last post i made can be removed temporarily by removing layer 2 ( the layer the objects are in) from being seen.

I will now light map the entire map in medium. And see what it looks like. Then make a test, get some feedback. And after that work is done. We will see.

Either add in those missing collision meshes, or delete the objects asking for a collision mesh from your pr_edit

Thats why you test it out on the low settings or on just a few objects.

Best on just a few objects on final settings, rather than the entire map on low since that's still going to take some time :p

I left the SISU event early because the map was kinda boring on the Russian side, sorry...

No Flags = No Motivation to attack and lose tickets, so both Teams just fortified their fobs, having 80 Infantry guys waiting at the ground to get raped by the apcs / apache with no real chance for any team to break through, it's just battling down tickets with a minimum fun for the infantry guys.

Also, I'd really like to see an other Faction than Russia on the Opfor side, they just fail without Thermal APC's and their crappy short Range RPG's vs the Canadian HAT's.

Blame me, but thats my point of view for this first version I played today. :roll:

You're right about the flags, everything else is just a miscalculated one sided view.

Completely miscalculated. And that fact means that the VD needs to be shorter by at least 1/3

Well currently its 1400m. Which is quite ridiculous considering the map is more open than Kashan somehow. Sure there are a few ridges and hills but they are relatively small. Get onto some high ground and suddenly you can see half the map. Couple that with some extreme range weapons (tanks, HAT) and go figure what starts happening

I agree.

The point I was trying to make with "miscalculation", is that whoever played Russia complain about the same things without having in mind that their armor was generally incompetent and their handheld ATs had a static role - due to camping. If Russia played their assets right, perhaps we wouldn't even be discussing about the unbalance of HATs.

It's sort of an illusion to instantly believe that after 1 round under the circunstances that Wicca proposed to us, that Russia is THAT bad as some of you like to point out.

Imagine the same event, with the same factions, but with flags, VD shortened by 1/3 - as you stated - and Russia playing cohesive. Would you be so certain that they would lose every time?

i feel asleep! And i remember waking up to turn off the computer o.0

But the bf2 editor is still running even if my PC went into sleep mode.

if ur comp goes to sleep with the editor opens, the editor will register a loss of access to ur video hardware and will prompt a save and close
