This is pretty true. I often lead squads and over time I get to notice that it does not all depend on the squad leader whether a squad functions properly or not. I'd say a good 80% comes down to what kind of squad members you have. It's all a matter of the initiative your squad members are showing, whether they are following instructions given by the squadleader and if they're being discplined and alert all the time. That really depends and is in most cases a matter of life and death. One miscommunication or misunderstanding or one time a member does not follow the squad leader's orders and someone get killed. Ofcourse the squad leader also holds a big responsibility because he has to decide what moves to make and what to do, and the squad leader who has to show the first and most initiative by providing instructions and giving direct orders in the field, then comes the rest.
Communication, iniative, subordinacy.

So true, but the core of the problem is that despite the will to follow the orders the Grunt is obliged to have knowledge how to execute them properly. And this is the main PR flaw and advantage over other games.

So true ! i add a J for retard snipers/lone wolfs who spam chat/mumble for crate even when they are obviously behind ennemy lines...
Last week, i got a HAT Lonewolf (i won't tell you his name but he'll recognize himself) on Muttrah surrounded by the beast and stingers, a suicide area for Hueys. He spammed me 1h for a crate ! (i was squad leader for the "Air baguette" Trans squad). he has even spammed Admins against me !
Anyway, pilot it's a very stressfull job.

It just came to my mind that HAT is pretty stressing cuz the tanks have thermal vision and I get my head blown off quite frequently by them.

Heli pilot can be stressful, but mostly as a vehicle driver under fire with the gunner screaming at you is damn nerve wrecking.

I used to love flying transport helis, but using a keyboard. Yes, it's much easier to me. I feel in control, although not having a proper joystick made it even more stressful.
But this thread reminds me I need to play something else other than medic.

I would say that being a helicopter pilot, is one of the most demanding roles in the entire modification, but sure it's fun as hell, just that I don't fly that well, therefore I say: beware crewmen, keep an extra pair of parachutes with you at all time!

Squad leading is the most stressful for sure. I do it all the time and it's great fun, but it can be very frustrating when a plan that you devise just goes completely to shit, or when your squad is stuck in a terrible situation that you can't really change (like having an inf squad with a lat, and 3 pieces of armor appear and you're trapped with nowhere to go). Trying to work with other SLs can also be a very stressful role at times too , especially when you look at the map and the squads are all over the place

Being a helo pilot is so stressful. You have the "lives" of your team members in your hands.
It also sucks when you get a player(s) that complain when you tell them "I'm not going there unless you want us all to be Swiss cheese" or they request tiny *** rooftop.... I hate rooftop landings.

Most stressfull role to me is definitely squadleader. It's really hard to get 5 guys, which are often beginners or not cooperating, to attack an objective together and don't do any stupid mistakes. The job gets even tuffer when you have 100p on the server and 8-12 man squads.
After that piloting is the next stressfull to me. I always get sweaty hands when flying a full squad around and trying to drop them on a rooftop.

OK: As an experienced ex army officer; my most difficult experience is to be a noob and bite my tongue. I don't wan't to spoil your game experience so I have tended to hold my advocacy and let you get on with it.
I am sorry to say this; but many of the squad leaders I have gamed with have inadequate man mangement skills to enable an effective infantry section. Frankly, they would have not made Corporal in my Batallion.
I will continue to game and offer advice to my squad leader. I will not attempt to take command and ruin their game experience.
