Alright, some admins will let others know that the admin has acknowledged, some won't. And it could even lengthen the process of handling certain situations.RAWSwampFox wrote:Good Afternoon,
The updated rules look ok. While I understand the "behind closed doors" admin approach to dealing with problems and the no "public shaming" aspect, IMO, this exact things leads to suspicion and frustration that I see in a lot of these posts from good solid players. I don't agree with either of the above but clear communication that a specific issue is being taken care of would be nice as well as something that is visibly tangible to back up the "we are taking care of it" statement. If there is nothing visibly tangible that people can provide reference too, IMO, it opens the door for inaction and corruption (good ole boy system).
The rules we have been instructed by the new policies in the 121 update reflect hugely among all of the staff, so we have been putting tight leeches on them all and have been pulling a lot of admins recently due to small misconduct that is enough to get their powers revoked due to the sensitivity of how our admin staff policies have been laid out.RAWSwampFox wrote: FCV admin'ing reminds me of the parent that tells their kid, now on the count of three I am going to ...... 1, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3 ..... wham.... The kids know when the button is about to launch the consequence and will ride it right down to the last millisecond causing hurt feelings and family disruption which is often displayed between parents as well as siblings. These feelings don't easily go away with a "I'm sorry" but rather with something that is visibly tangible and heartfelt.
Psychologically and statistically we have found out that a player automatically assumes they're going to be punished so therefore they pay the admin in a heavy "f*** you, too" mindset ultimately resulting in the repetition of their behavior. It's like dealing with cops; they might put you in handcuffs although you aren't guilty of anything but in the end you're still pretty pissed. We use the warn command a lot more now, but as seen on other servers it's what we expect as said above.RAWSwampFox wrote: After reading the rules, I thought I might give FCV a second chance but then read some of the posts above and realized that the rules, while well thought out with good intention, still isn't being publicly communicated in game. Text across the screen isn't always read in the heat of gaming granted, but the beep and text that follows a warning has a higher reading and comprehension percentage. Why are these not used as often?
That's very faint and almost an indirectly insulting comment as put through by some recent posters on this thread. And how do you know about the admins recently if you haven't played here in a month? .. two? A lot has changed. And keep in mind your beef with one of our admins doesn't surprise me that you write such a distant and indirect post like how you have set it up to be.RAWSwampFox wrote: Will my continued boycott affect the server, probably not. I do miss playing on it and am saddened by the constant inaction or overreaction from admins. Political campaign promises are hollow unless filled with visible tangible results.

Overall, you are a fun player to have on the server, a lot of people like you (there's a few that don't). It's a shame you don't play on here but it all falls back on you guilt-wise due to your fabrication of a misinterpreted situation that happened on the server that was justified both in a PM and discipline wise.
Thanks, however.
