Got some help from vapoman this morning. But I will try the bf2 cleaner also. Good idea. Rudd I did pack the right files. I think it might be the cache as suggested. Thank you for all your help.

lol, it was mostly watching a livestream of you eating breakfast
One thing we didn't try was re-generating the low detail maps. I would suggest doing that, and also resave all the terrain and textures so that the changes actually get saved.

Check your terrain textures "LowDetailType" in the tweaker bar. If any of them are set to 0 then it could cause the grittiness to go away. They should all be 1 except the steep terrain, which should be 2 (with a PlaneMap of 1). Maybe these got messed up during a save?

i had this error before i think i solved it with deleting all lowdetailmaps files tx_x*.dds and then regenerating them in the editor
i`d bet that this is causing the error

so you deleted all lowdetailmaps in /the_karez_offensive/lowdetailmaps/ and in /the_karez_offensive/editor/lowdetailmaps/ and regenerated them in the editor and then recompiled the terrain ?

Still have a lot of work to do on this map in my opinion. The MEC command post in base is halfway in the ground. The MEC choppers are kind of a long hike to get to in main. You have no landing pads so the pilots have no idea where to rearm. You should probably add some more crates around the base so it's easier to request kits.
The mountain outpost flag is a bleed flag for US but not for MEC. These are just the things I noticed off the top of my head.
