I think you should and the medic role in here because I would definitely vote for that.

This poll misses one stressful, namely the medic.

The HAT kit can also be stressful when you're whole team is watching you, waiting for you to take out that pesky piece of armor.

IMHO, Medic is the most fun role. I always have a good laugh when I am one.

The most stressful, for me at least, are definitely trans heli pilot and infantry squad leader when you're the only infantry squad or one of two and you're the "attack" squad. How it happened I don't know, but my squad ended up being the only "real" infantry squad for MEC on Muttrah (I know right?). We had FOB, Mortars, APC.. No Infantry but us. Gets quite stressful since you're the primary (and in some cases only) CP-capping squad.

We also took a lot of losses that round... Never use just 1 infantry squad on Muttrah. v.v
(We still won though, woot!)

+1 for medic.
Especially with an incompetent SL

Is it just me, or is medic easier than rifleman?

I'm not obliged to engage targets at ranges where I'm not good at, I only really need to heal and revive people and I am very proficient in CQB.

Many times I'm a medic, we get ambushed, only I survive and I fight them off. Everyone is like "How'd you survive?"

easily when flying anything, as your the center of attention, and as soon as you screw up the entire team including the enemy team rips into you lol.

I would say that SL is the only role that is still extremely stressful even if you're 100% confident and know what you're doing. Its one of the hardest roles to fulfill even if the plan is going perfectly without a hitch (which just never happens).

Commanders aren't that stressed out because when things are working they're not needed to do much except keep the train on the tracks.

Pilots should never be stressed about anything to do with social acceptance because if you don't know you're good enough to not crash and always put her down where you say you will then you shouldn't be in the pilot seat. If you are stressed by the way people treat you in that slot then don't take it. The best pilots I've known are blase as fuck and never give a shit. They'll argue with you just as soon as you open your mouth. Also, pilots have the ultimate veto right to say "no I'm not landing there" because they know better.

Medic can be frustrating, but you're still not alone.

SL is always alone. Alone at the top of the squad. Alone at the bottom end of the CO's orders. Alone in the job of making choices every moment of the round.

SL is the only real answer to this question.

Squad Leader for definite. You're under immense pressure from dealing with your squad, to surveying the battlefield, and overcoming the sometimes overwhelming odds of your enemy.

You might be great, but your team, or squad however may not be.

I can honestly say having only been SL over the last few days, I picked it up pretty quick and was loving it with a lot of squad (but not team) success.

Then this morning, I played Muttrah as MEC earlier and lead a squad on one of the US servers. Half were not listening to me and just kept charging off across roads and up to enemy lines then screaming for a medic, even though they were totally exposed and miles away, and whilst trying to bring those guys back into the fold I had one guy constantly asking me "What's the plan SL?" despite having been told prior to the plan being picking everyone back up. Took ever fibre of my being to not leave that squad, on the basis that there were no other players around to lead. Luckily, the team had succeeded without us.

After that round, I had to come off for a bit and calm down!

I remember that round. It was on TG and my APC came to pick you guys up and we dropped you off at the NC Triangle to take down an enemy FOB. You guys were doing ok and that point but I could tell you were slightly stressed. ;) Keep at it. This mod is always in need of good SLs.

And I would have to agree that being the squad leader is easily the most stressful role. I've been playing this mod for years and feel competent in the role. However, I think if you ask any long time experienced SLs, they would agree that no matter how competent you may feel, it can still be stressful.

I find that the only time it's less stressful is when you're running a squad with clan mates or friends. It's so nice when its to the point where they can almost read your mind and you're fully confident in everyone's ability around you. Don't get me wrong. You can have great success leading a pub squad and the stress level can lower during the round after learning/seeing everyone's strengths. But its still stressful.

Am I the only one who never has any kind of social acceptable or gameplay related stress as SL?

To me its fairly natural if the squad is at least on Mumble and can communicate.

I would say that being a combat medic is the most stressful role for the following reasons:

  1. Medics are the backbone of the squad. It takes someone who is disciplined enough that they do not break down while all their squad mates are dying while getting shot at from 8 different directions
  2. You really can't keep track of who's wounded and not wounded. they spam Mumble with calls of "Medic!" on squad chat, which does not tell me where the hell you are .
  3. If you mess up, like for example, for get to revive someone who is important (squad leader or machine gunner for supression), everyone including you ends up dying because you were either to stressed out or not quick enough.

Where is Medic? It is so stressful. Sitting back trying to heal and then suddenly all of your squad except yourself get killed in the middle of a hot combat area surrounded by enemies. Having to reply to every "MEDIC!" cry and trying to find people in bushes.

I would disagree with this entirely. The squad does not exist without the SL. You would just be unassigned and unable to even request the medic kit. True story.

Without an SL leading you into battle, you would just be standing by at base, wandering around and popping smoke with all of the other GIs.

Driving an armored vehicle in to an Urban environment with buildings, windows, alley ways, everywhere is diffidently tense.

Too be honest the stats here are a bit iffy really. I mean, how many of us have actually flown the chopper online? I think we have all probably SL'd so you are going to get more of that coming up as a stressful role. I personally have never had the balls (or the ping from ZA) to fly a heli or do much tank and apc work and am sure I would find it a more stressful role. I think it comes down in part to the value of the asset you are commanding. Inf are important but there are loads of em and only a few heavy assets that are game changers (when used by properly qualified induhviduals) and take ages to respawn (rightly so).
