Yeah, those ones above, but if that was the case, everyone's pc would be slow.

Haha you're right about that.
On that note, I could have sworn my old 8800GT SLI setup ran PR just fine. But they were doing poorly in newer games so end up upgrading this year. Call me crazy but I think Nvidia has stopped making DX9 enhancements in their latest drivers.

I did the test. And I had good results. Hope I did all correct and hope it helps to us all
Notes:
-Not any CPU core exceed 60% load while playing.
-Videocard - Nvidia 540M
-Ramiel load time with pr_test - 82 sec, normal - 88 sec.
-Lightning set to high, because when I set low in new launcher, in-game it still looks like mid or high. So, when set low in pr_fpstest - soldiers look really dark, which is not happened in normal game.
Co-op 32 bots
pr_fpstest
Al Basrah - 90 fps looking outside city, 60 fps stable looking in city - definitely playable, good old PR
Beirut - same 90-60 fps stable. Never lower 55
Ramiel - 90-60
normal
Beirut - 60-30
Ramiel - 60-30

I have a good feeling that the server and game bugs being fixed daily will make performances normal, on-top of optimizations. The Osprey needs to be optimized.
I notice when I play on 250 Ping servers, that the jets on the map drift and then correct it's position, then drifts. The osprey causes some performance hit, though I haven't ran a counter. Will run a test the next time I play and report results.

Guys, I am sure you can use some kind of occlusion culling on this **** engine. It could help alot with FPS.
I also found out that when I dump mag on the ground next to my legs FPS drops like 50%.

We have been doing an awful lot with occlusion culling in 1.0.
Could you do some more tests with dumping that mag? Report back with amount of fps, what weapons, what maps, facing what direction, etc, etc.

This is where I reported, and was waiting to see if the latest fixes this, so I'll post here to follow up. I don't want to sound too critical because PR has done so many things for me over the years. But I'm still getting performance issues with 1.1.1.0. At least I have it stable now
after following this thread, but it is almost unplayable on my system. Still down to 20fps a lot of the time.
What is the low down here from the PR devs ? If PR now requires a much more powerful system (I have Q6600 Quad Core and Nvidia 9800 in Vista) then I guess I can live with that. But the only major requirement I have seen cited is the extra memory required. I've fixed that part.
Actually I'm really a happy bunny now, because the PR thread linked above appears to have made Battlefield 1.41 PR (v0.87 altered to work with BF 1.41, it needed a flash menu from an older version) stable, so now I'm playing in that with high frames and FUN !

Those new updates have made the game completely unplayable for me, in 1.0.30.0 i could play most of the maps quite well, but by that time i already had problems with some maps that used to run well(like Mestia) but now were unplayable. Now in 1.1, any map gets stuck in 15 fps! The max i get are some 20-25 fps in maps that used to run at 40+ fps. Tried everything i found on the web, but nothing worked! What do i do now?

With the new 1.1.1.0, my fps dropped by around 20 frames, making some maps unplayable unless i play on low settings. I do have a 4 year old cpu (Phenom ii X4 965 3.8ghz) and 4gb of ram, but being able to have 35-90fps to drop to 15-70fps is just bad. Hope the devs can fix the performance issues soon.

Strange how you guys have all had FPS drops. My FPS increased dramatically, up to 40 fps on some 4k maps. Before 1.1.1.0 I got less than 15fps. Now I average out at 17.5, not great but when you are used to about 10 it feels amazing.
Although close gunfire and bullet impact effects cause major fps drops, dropping 10-20 fps instantly.

It's really strange that people would complain about 1.1.1.0 making their frames drop, as from 1.0 -> 1.1.1.0 there were a few content additions, but for the most part there was a huge amount of optimization that occurred. So like tankninja (and me, and a bunch of testers), your FPS should have improved, at least marginally.

highly fragmented *.zip files that were updated , could cause read/write buffer problems, and that can cause the drop in FPS. Defrag the drive you have PR installed on.

clean out the shaders folder, then run a map.
All, read this:
http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_3.html
If not, lower your video settings. Shadows for me made it lag when theres too many so i set it to medium. Hope it helps

Tried that too, no effect.

I got —30FPS more with new update.
I would give money to DEVs for fixing the game.
