I voted for PMC to.

Voted ARF, in conjunction with the french.

Loads of new assets, new theatre, new feel.

Would like to see French Forces and, of course, hypothetic Spanish forces =)

Norwegian. My only concern is, how many of these factions will get the opportunity to make it in PR?

ADF for the Aussie's would really blow my socks off! Imagine all the radio chatter with the Aussie Accent (Not abbreviated or emulated - like authentic aussie born voice), plus it would bring more aussie servers and players. Would be incredible!

why isn't there a United Nations faction created yet?
we could battle UN vs Rebels in the Republic of Congo.

How about Chechen rebels?

You wouldn't really need new weaponry, although I would like to see some kind of VSS Vintorez, Bizon or something like that, you would only need to make new models for them.

Another thing I thought of, which could be interesting but also a bit... delicate, could be Serbian forces vs. Bosnian Mujaheddin.

I am from down there (though neither Serbian nor Bosnian, it's actually Montenegro... well, my father is from there, the only Montenegrin thing left in me is that I speak the language a bit... and that I am incredibly lazy . The rest of me is pure German), and I know the landscape is very interesting.

I guess you all know the pictures from the (little enjoyable) news from down there: it's a mostly central European landscape with forests and open fields, but you see the typical Mediterranean high grass there, although it's usually not that dry and yellow like on the south. And there are a lot of unfinished buildings, usully due to the funny fact that you don't need to pay taxes for your house until it has a roof.

I don't know why, but I would like to fight in such an environment. Next to the fact that I like Russian weaponry a lot.

But considering the polls of the factions available to vote for, I couldn't decide which I would take. They are all equal to me.

I might as well tell you politely before someone'll start to yell at you or infract you or whatever:

The current Rebel faction (the guys in the forestmaps with their awesome balaclava's, sunglasses, M60's and to the untrained ear heavily accented russian speech) actually was chechen militia a few build prior. The devteam however decided that a chechen milita faction would severely lessen the potential use of this faction (as it would only be fought by russians realistically) and might be found politically problematic.

So now we have a sort of generic Caucasian (as in more or less Caucasus based, though of course it's an all-white faction as well) rebel milita being anything between Russian arms-dealers and Chechen militia. This gives the dev's more possibilities to field them on variety of maps, pitted against a variety of foes.

Also, this faction was developed with the Brits as main foe in mind, they were pitted against the russians for a time but this turned out to be less interesting (heavy AK74 vs AK74m action, nice but at least in the early days they 'felt' too much the same). Now the Milita faction is fighting against the Brits mostly, as well as the Russians on at least one occasion.

Those weapon suggestions you are making are only about highly rare 1337 specops weapons, not used by the russians in large amount and then only by elite units such as the spetsnaz, PR isn't about that as you will learn.

Also, there's a suggestions forum, it requires a certain amount of posts before you're allowed to post a suggestion (to make sure you've been with us some time to learn about the game before you go suggest things) and even then the suggestion are filtered to avoid unreasonable or already suggested suggestions.

Glad you want to contribute though, hope to have answered some of your questions.

And I know about the suggestion forum and so on, I just thought this topic was not so strictly on "Choose one of those factions listed above" but also a little bit about "if you could magically implement a faction..."-dreaming... ops:

Edit: and I thought the Vintorez and the like are "fairly common", as you see them so often on military photos in news and forums and so on.

My dream would be to get a Balkan theater, but so far the only thing I managed to do is to convince someone to make the PAP

If you really wish to get the landscape in then theres a few issues. The buildings/houses, while buildings may be somewhat similar, arent really the same style as the statics we currently have. But the main issue is getting someone motivated to work on a map such as that (I would but, with all the projects under my belt right now I would became a laughing stock if I started another one). If you are motivated enough you can take a look at these couple of links:

For your mapping needs and if you feel you'd rather do this (or you can try learning modeling in general)

All you need is the time, will and motivation to help. If not, well nobody will blame you.

French Forces sound cool. Dutch Forces are pretty nice too so either, whichever releases first, I'll be happy.

I know that the French Forces have blue helmets and white UN vehicles on Operation Marlin

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed many times before, you might find something with the search function, but I think it's because it's impossible to portray such thing in game. How would it work, each kit would be a different faction? Like in BF Euro Force? Would make no sense at all to have squads with 6 different nationalities in it... UN doesn't work that way.

I am brand new here so not sure if this is frowned upon, but in the AIX mod they have a UN faction. Everyone with UN vehicles and the blue helmets ect. It is doable, unless you are talking about something else that I missed.

I would rather play as the LE L?gion Etrang?re (French Foreign Leagion) than the UN though.

Did I see someplace private contractors faction mentioned? That would be awesome as well. Big fan of the Aussies as I have done some time overseas with them.

What he meant is UN as a multinational faction. It simply doesnt have sense to have different nationalities in a squad.

At best UN can be represented as an alternative skin for one of the existing factions (such as France)

Everyone just votes for whatever defense force that comes from there country what PR really needs is African resistance fighters this will add an entirely new environment to PR and will make for some pretty epic battles.
