This was an issue i came across today and other people might get it too, thought it might need a mention.
yes thats quite important if you are a vista user.

I'm not a Vista user and it works perfectly other then the skin, I'll live without the PR skin but it seems kinda odd that it doesn't work cos it's just a skin...

Yeah I think its cos I had a FAIL moment and cocked up the registry keys in the 0.3 beta version ... I did one of them right but there is another entry I wasn't aware of that is reading from the original mumble installation, so they are getting confused with each other. I have fixed that in the next version coming. Just got a few more things to fix up first though before its ready. By the end of the weekend hopefully.

if i'm on mumble can i still communicate with my squad in game for those who don't have mumble?

if the DEVs plan on forcing various aspects of mumble like minVolume, why not bind the PTT button to whatever voip button is being used by BF2 if that's possible?

and yea, the teamwork when using mumble and various squads is just AMAZING!

because then your squad would hear a double voice of you if they are near. Which would be fine, but you will notice that mumble has a better latency than voip and therefore the bf2 Voip will come in a second or so behind, making an annoying echo.

new version of PR mumble, no real big changes, just good for the new guys just getting into it.

Some progress has been made towards forcing the PR mumble client to be in sync with the murmur server, meaning that in the not too distant future the PR mumble beta will be REQUIRED to join the PR mumble server.. ie: everyone will be forced to use the same settings so you cannot gain unfair advantage by setting your sound ranges differently.

we could use some testers to figure out what exactly "Bloom" does and how much it affects things, and if its worth locking down this setting as well.

Still the biggest concerns of mumble atm are:

- Removing ability for players that are out of game the ability to transmit on "push-to-talk" or hear transmissions unless they are transmitting an in game location. This would single handedly cut down the majority of user complaints about the program.

- Figure out whats causing the mumble server to become unresponsive at times, sometimes the Force Center Position does not work, and sometimes no transmissions can be heard at all, this seemingly occurs randomly, might be related to the server or the traffic that the server gets.

- Only allow "Force Center Position" to be used in the squad leader channels, to prevent needless spam in the main channels.

btw, to make it easier for n00bs to find the mumble threads, we now have a redirect on the imgoingin website

http://www.imgoingin.co.uk/mumble will send you to https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... ality.html

If more clans could do this, it would be more convenient for the n00bs :)

I know it's not exactly a fix, but would having a or maybe several backup server(s) not help to some extent with that? Then just having a stickied thread in the forums to keep everyone up to date with what server they're supposed to be using.

Also, for us un-comprehendabley forgetful folk, it might be a good idea to have a beta number on the PR mumble shortcut so we know where we're at... to some extent.

It tells you on the title bar when you run it. It gives you the exact date and time that it was compiled on. Can't get more 'where you are at' than that.

Once I stop changing it so fast and frequently I will put version numbers in there instead ... but at the moment its a waste of effort changing them as a day later its different. The exe will always be called what it is though ... its too much hassle to change all the name references in the installer script each time. I will drop the (beta) tag when its ready , but thats all.

0.4 beta stops working and has to be closed whenever I try to add FCP shortcuts etc.

I tried uninstalling preferences and shotcuts, and not, both resulted in the same

I'm on vista btw, run as admin did not give different result
