Why not just password the server then? You will be able to play in peace and have A LOT of control over everyone, if not full control.

Because its still a public server... that =DRK= =]H[= & a few others control... where we can make our own rules and play according to our own said rules. We don't have to password the server to get that. What kind of suggestion is that even?

I was never suggesting anything...

EDIT: Thanks for getting the server up, even if it's not fully operational. Now there is 3 great servers to play on in America. I'll possibly donate to the server after I get a new PC. No matter what, FCV will turn out to be one of the best PR servers ever!

I've found over time the server located in LA always does marginally better then the others over the 24hr space in terms of player numbers.

I see a lot of Aussie/NZ/Asian players using LA because of the fiber connections thus best ping.

The "price is right" datacenter LA uses gets attacked so much resulting in a lot of CTDing client-side.

Regardless, I would host one out of my own house (which has great internet) but the license agreement forbids home hosted servers.

Thats because most of the undersea fibre cables from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and China terminate in the One Wilshire building in Los Angeles.

Because Asia and Europe gets a reasonably even and playable ping of 150ms+/- to Los Angeles.
Of Course how much you pay for your home internet connection will dictates how well your ISP routes your traffic.
Same goes for Game Server hosting or Game Server Providers.

Well, I've been playing PR for quite a long time and have never been as frustrated as I was playing on FCV. I haven't even posted on the forums in over a year but this agitated me to the point I felt obligated to write something.this is the first time I have played on the FCV server. I was in a trans chopper and was baser raped two times by AA's in the main and reported it receiving no response. Agitated I check your rules and find out I was well within the prescribed bounds of main. I let it go and continued to fly until I was again shot down In main. I reported it again and even cited the rule. I then received a response to stop grieving and to get over the fact that one of your rules was clearly broken multiple times. I come to find out that there were 4 admins online, and none of them took any action over said baserape. Not only that, the players Breaking the rules proceeded to verbally abuse me to which again the admins online did nothing. I am a big fan of project reality and the community it represents and the behavior I saw was not a good reflection upon the community, the admins, or the server. I highly encourage you to admin your server to the level of rules and expectations you have set. Some very well established groups call your server home and what I saw is not doing them justice. So far I'm Not impressed guys...

I don't even know why the server is turned on.

Bren please, isn't that a thing you should talk about with bluedrake? I don't think they are looking for such answers.

I want to stress the essence of these feedback threads guys... if you don't play on FCV and/or have no interest on playing there then your feedback is meaningless to them. Your opinion should then be addressed elsewhere and not in this thread which is meant for positive and negative feedback based on experience with this server. If you don't have any, then address your opinion on their rules/location/shitty admins/whatever personally to them in form of their forums/PM/TS. These threads are for new players who want to see how this server does, what experiences players have had here and for admins and staff to learn from these and improve. It's not a discussion forum on how this server should act or be.

Server is shutting down until this weekend while we finish polishing up the last few things server side and administration wise. Thanks for bearing with us.

Again, we understand that the server is in a rough spot right now... we know exactly what needs fixing, and we're working on it. If you don't like the environment right now, then I recommend playing on PRTA NA until our problems are fixed... which shouldn't be more than a week or two.

Is that a hint of a server relocation to LA, BlueDrake?

Uh... what? No.

Its a hint that the server is shutting down until this weekend while we finish polishing up the last few things server side and administration wise.

If we were moving to LA then I would have said we were moving the server to LA.

Is there like... a practical joke going around where people make up things we say?
